To men, who initiated a divorce, are you responsible for finishing up divorce paperwork? Or how “eager” you are to walk out of the marriage?

You'd do better if you are less eager yourself.

Whatever his reasons for procrastination are, just move on with your life without him. Meet people, read a book, have a vacation, work, exercise. You can consider yourself divorced even if you aren't. Don't buy a house though :)

It's a way for the other spouse to control the situation.

In my case, my exwife for a laundry list of reasons, mostly financial, want to control the divorce process. She wanted to wait 12 months so I couldn't use her DUI against her. And by waiting longer, it would make it easier for her to get alimony.

But I took away that control from her and I filed for divorce anyway. Mediation went nowhere, not unless I was going to give her everything. So we had to go to trial.

Even then she lied on the Affidavit of financial information (I used her lies against her) and she refused to go over the exhibits with her lawyer, procrastinating. She got one extension on our divorce trial, but her lawyer said they won't give her another one. Her refusal to go over the exhibits ending up costing her a lot at divorce trial.

And then once the divorce was done, she dragged her feet on paperwork and everything else.

I wasn’t eager at all but it had to be done. Even after the fact we are divorced I still am hurt and upset about it as I didn’t want a divorce. But like I said it had to happen.my exwife wouldn’t do paperwork and the judge still went through with the divorce since I did everything in my end.

I didn't initiate or want it, but once the die was cast I did almost all the work to get it done as quickly and cheaply as possible.

She was the one who wanted divorce, I kept trying to convince her that we should be together.

Once I realized that she began to treat me as a dog I made sure that divorce is over asap, which shocked her so much.

So, I guess he hasn't made his decision yet. If he really wants it he will not postpone anything.

i didnt initiate it but i agreed to it, because i was tired too lol

i followed thru with everything i needed to because i was eager to move on. maybe he is having second thoughts or just being a dick to mess with you.
