My ex wife convinced me to put several credit cards in my name so we can do things for out marriage like pay down payment on rental house or build credit. We also had a car note that was about 6k left when she left.

During the divorce proceedings I was so ready for it to be over that I did not want to bring up any of my financial concerns. Fast forward 4 years later she receives child support and half of medical bills and after school care so she can work. Between this, me having to put both kids on my health insurance I was losing about 50 percent of my income every month.

Well I eventually paid the whole car note, but I didn't have the time or money to address the credit card debt and was served with paperwork about getting sued. At the time my ex wife was trying to take away my visitation rights to make them supervised under the false presence that I was not capable of taking care of them. Because of this I was overwhelmed and did not address the lawsuit for the credit card debt..

Well behind my back the company got approved to garnish 25 percent of my disposable income meaning that now almost 75 percent of my income goes to various places before I see any money for myself and my new family and 1 year old child. My question is without filing for bankruptcy, how can I stop this? A billion dollar corporation just got approval to take my money and I don't know what to do. I hired a lawyer and he told me file bankruptcy. I dont even have 7k in overall debt, and that would be dumb to block myself from borrowing for 7 years at age 35.. 6 years later and my ex wife is still screwing me over.

I cannot ask her to help pay this bill because the relationship is irreconcilable after she tried to take away my parental rights 4 TIMES. So yeah, I don't know man. It looks like I just have to live in squaller for the next 10 months until the full 3500 dollar debt is taken out of my account. This is terrible! Not only that my ex wife has excellent credit and in the past 2 years got loan approval for 2 different luxury cars, got a raise and promotion at her job and still asking me for more money.

My partner isn't working just yet and my ex wife doesn't know my financial situation because I don't talk to her except through the court appointed parenting app.. what he hell!?
