I've run into this issue quite a few times where I think I'm setting up a date.

Sometimes when we've texted and set up the date, I've gotten asked "Just to clarify, this isn't a date right?"

Other times, we'll be out on the date already, once I was even out wine tasting with a girl, and she starts telling me about this guy she's seeing, and I have to explain I thought we were going out on a date.

Am I missing something? I thought women know right away when we're interested in them. I'd say I'm an average looking guy. I (M23) got a good face, I dress well, average height, and I'm in okay shape (not too athletic though).

Once in a while, it does end up being a date, but most of the time women think I want to be friends. How do I establish that sexual tension? I have enough friends.
