Everyone experiences some sort of discontent in their marriage, but as men, I believe we're less likely to ever succumb to divorce because of what's at stake (assets, custody, community, etc) if that came to fruition.

I (34M) have been married for 6 years and we have 2 kids. I think about divorcing often. We live in CA. However, I don't think I'll ever have enough incentive to go through with it. I would go as far as saying, with what's at stake, she could cheat on me and I might actively try to pretend I never found out. I won't go into the details, but I wanted to hear the stories of other people in this subreddit.

If you initiated the divorce, what were your breaking points? Was it worth it? Do you have any guidelines about what to consider before initiating the process? Finally, do you have any advice to mitigate the damage, if I decide it's necessary?

Thank you all for your time.
