So, the trope of the "deranged boy mom" where mothers become particularly defensive of the experience of young sons and defend them even in cases where they shouldn't is something a lot of feminist aligned women on Reddit criticize a lot as a marker of internalized misogyny. I have noticed anecdotally though where I see that trope occur in real life a lot of those women themselves were more feminist or at least man hating when they were younger.

My take is this: We now have more women being more selective and taking a longer time to settle down into a relationship and have kids. This results in more boys being born with autism and being born scrawnier and having a harder time putting on muscle mass. I think a lot of high value women who only ever thought of men in terms of the high value men that put them through the ringer in the dating market finally get that this is not the experience of all men when they have a son. Finally they start to get that not every man can have any woman he wants at the snap of a finger. They see through his eyes and see how hard life is even beyond just the dating realm for a low value man. I think they realize they kid of fucked up in their understanding of men's experiences when young and overcompensate, sometimes hating on young women and keeping the cycle going. I also would relate this to how women tend to get more conservative as they age (as we saw with Gen X women recently).
