Sadly in our society men have no intrisic value, and that is a very old problem that has been amplified in the last few decades and is getting worse with social media.

I don't like the guy that is been interviewed, as he has some very problematic opinions on masculinity on his channel, but here he is spot on.

Despite the eventual talk about male disposability here and there, I have absolutely no ideia on how we could fix it, as things stand I have less and less desire to engage socially with oher people because of this.

These are men's issues you will never see Menlibs talk about. Because their whole focus is about talking about how men should be "good" boys for women.

I believe that this is what fragile masculinity would mean if men were involved in the conversation on a level deeper than "I can't be racist because I have a black friend".

Feminists correctly recognize that masculinity is a socially granted status that men have to maintain through performance, rather than being one-and-done after puberty the way femininity is. However, they present the consequences of failing to maintain that status as merely feeling anxiety and insecurity about not being perceived as masculine, and acting out to try to regain status. The actual consequences are falling below the glass floor, and being considered worthless, disposable, and an acceptable target for violence.

I personally believe that a significant portion of what currently gets labeled as homophobia or transphobia should be considered misandry, as punishment for failing to perform masculinity. I say that because gay men face significantly more violence than lesbians, and trans women face significantly more violence than trans men. If the primary things being punished were same-sex attraction and transgender identity, I would expect them to be close to equal. If misogyny were a bigger driver than misandry, I would expect lesbians to experience more violence than gay men.

If you look at it that way, with the punishment for failing to perform masculinity being the level of violence that gay men and trans women face, then reducing fragile masculinity down to anxiety and insecurity comes across as very callous and dismissive. If I'm right, then anxiety is the only rational response.

for society back in the days throwing a man away was akin to a plastic cup, you could do it if you don't mind littering and damaging nature, but it seems as though society these days treats men more like naturally decomposing cups, where its okay if you don't care that much what you do with it. When people (men) complain about littering, you can hide behind the idea that it (they) doesn't really matter because it (they) are just decomposing matter, versus treating this as an accumulating moral issue, so you're morally off the hook in your mind. How men were viewed wasn't very good, but it hasn't gotten any better, on the contrary.
