I'd say right now just driving more and more discussion of undeniable male issues is a good thing.

Medium term, the attempts to couch systematic issues men face under a system that doesn't care about them at all as a problem of the "patriarchy" will have to be resisted.

I'm highly skeptical, due to the nature of the discourse. It is still more patriarchy and toxic masculinity BS. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. And repeating the same thing tends to have the same results.

I guess we will have to wait and hear what people who went through it have to say, unless we can have access to the kind of material they provide

Edit : I mean, discourse wise, it looks identical to what we can see on menslib, and we all know just what this sub does to the mental health of those in it

They're giving it a good shot, I'd say. But.....it's dicey.

Like:

There are far too few resources available for all men in general especially straight men. Male-focused resources to assist them through child custody problems, and divorce headaches are next to none. There are too few shelters available for men and most of the existing ones are substandard and lack amenities, basic hygiene, and are not safe. Many fathers are forced to stay in unhealthy households to protect their children. More often than not, these fathers don’t have the means to remove their children from a toxic household and take them to a safe environment.

That's really important. But then it gets a little weird:

Patriarchy has dehumanized men into unemotional creatures with no feelings, who can control their hormone secretion with a blink of a stoic eye – never needing help. Women are deemed complicated and bothersome and men are deemed simple and easy. This idiotic view has resulted in a lack of attention to men’s issues and neglect in providing targeted resources for them.

The writing here seems a bit unprofessional.

I also don't know that patriarchy has made us into "unemotional creatures", but rather, a difficult society, capitalism that has been led by pure greed, among other things have forced men to bottle up their emotions.

Feminism insists and requires this to be called "patriarchy" but I really feel as if that's something that by default blames men.

Patriarchy is caused by men, so men are "doing all of this to themselves."

You know, "who set that system up". It's misandric stuff, that shames men and tells them that they are at fault for any struggles they experience.

I'm glad they're trying to empathize with and help men.

But I don't think they fully understand us. Calling us "creatures" is also dehumanizing and is not ok. Nor is it true.

On the surface it sounds good, but I’d bet good money that their idea of helping men is teaching them that their misogyny and patriarchal attitudes are the cause of their suffering.

Their goal is to avoid blaming women. The donate button is very high on their website. And it's my guess that this is the husband of a dedicated feminist who is simply grifting.

Blaming patriarchy for the way that women demand things to be is absolutely unacceptable. It's the same discussion we had yesterday where people keep blaming misogyny for hurting men instead of misandry. Unless you're willing to blame and hold women accountable, you're not helping men.

it like big organizations making big money with unethical practices then making small donations to "good causes" to appear nice. remember the 2 core principles of feminism :

1 - being a man is a privilege

2 - women are oppressed by men

no organization with these core principles can be a good for men

Just having a look at their front page, I'd say it looks decent.

They acknowledged discrimination against men in the justice system, the lack of shelters and resources for male victims and the social stigma against them too. Along with mentioning how men are more prevalent victims of violence and suicide.

Given how frequently I have see feminists online try to minimise misandry, claiming it's not systemic in any way and it's harm is limited to 'hurt feelings', this is already leagues better just at a glance.

If they are helping any of the men you listed, well, I wouldn't tell anyone in that kind of need not to go there; but I definitely expect there will be indoctrination going on, and that men who reject it firmly enough get turned out.

As well, helping or "helping" men in the name of feminism reeks of trying to buy legitimacy at bargain bin price by handing out a few crumbs.

Maybe I could've mustered some positivity for this if I found out about it in 2021, but not in 2026.

Of course, I'm very far from NY, so this is all sight unseen.

I'm skeptical. It claims to be "a group of life-long feminists", but the only person listed on the about page is Dr. F. Persia Jamshidi. Is anyone else involved or is it a one-woman band? ChatGPT has been unable to verify Jamshidi's claimed qualifications or find any public research or academic footprint. All the information available about her seems to have come from her.

This doesn't prove she's bogus. First ChatGPT is notoriously unreliable. The footprint might be there, just ChatGPT didn't find it. And a lack of a public footprint isn't proof that she isn't legit. Still, I recommend anyone minded to involve themselves in any of her activities do more due diligence than I have.

It comes across like Mother Theresa’s “care” for the poor. Her organization would offer some medicine and food, but she already had a “philosophy” that the poor were “closer to god” through suffering, so she didn’t offer so very much... while taking in hefty donations…

If I’m ever desperate for protection from a crazy ex, maybe I’d accept their help (depending on what it actually is), but when my supposed protectors are pretending that we live in a man-dominated, man-ruined world in which men are “unemotional creatures with no feelings, who can control their hormone secretion with a blink of a stoic eye…” yeah, I’ll look elsewhere first…

Really unclear why an organization (Incorporated) that supposedly focuses on helping men is titled “feminist” in the first place. “We here at White Man’s Burden Inc. would like to make sure that suffering black people know we’ve got their back…”

At the very least, based on what you wrote, they do seem to genuinely care and want to help, even if we don't agree on everything. If men have found genuine support and help through them, and they are at least putting their money where there mouth is in terms of the whole "feminism helps men too" thing, then I'd say they're overall good (that being said, I haven't actually looked into them)
