This would be a huge turnoff.

First of all, he's still lying and misrepresenting himself on his dating profile. It's always going to be alarming to think you're meeting up with someone and the person you actually meet up with is not who you expected.

Second, it's a gross way to make a gross point. There's nothing wrong with being attracted to attractive people, so the fact that he wants to "weed out" people like that suggests he has a lot of moral hangups around dating and relationships that I don't share.

That'd be a really weird and neurotic thing to do, but given that I am also weird and neurotic I don't think I'd judge him too harshly for it.

Would definitely be on high alert for less benign weird neuroticism after that tho.

I guess I'd have to give him a whirl. I feel like that's some shit my dad would do- my mom said he used to go to car dealerships in his worst clothes to get the best deals etc. The dude in questions strategy sounds weird but if we click and it turns out he's sexy then why would I turn him down?

Lies are lies, the motive was to deceive. Functionally there's no difference. Your post indicates you may believe that physical aesthetic may make up for such things in the eyes of women, they don't.

Nobody likes to be lied to and it's a strong indication of character and integrity (or lack thereof) when someone deceives in an attempt to gain, it's emotional fraud.
