This might seem obvious, but reading through posts and comments regarding this topic there always seems to be some contradiction.

A lot of advice given to men is to 'not chase' and to 'be the prize', and this doesn't make sense to me. You can't be both at the same time. I understand when they tell men not to be needy, but to take a passive role is ridiculous.

Naturally, men are the pursuers and initiators of sex, and they are the ones chasing women. They are the ones who are impressing a woman, and this dynamic is seen across the animal kingdom. The males are more colorful, flamboyant than the females are.

Regardless of the fact that women wear makeup, nice clothes, and hair to attract a man, it is the man who has to seduce the woman. When the woman agrees to a man's advances, SHE is choosing HIM.

These men seem to think being the prize means them sitting around waiting for a woman to climb on top on him out of nowhere and start fucking... The see being approached and chased as being seen as the prize, or that an attractive male does nothing but sit around and women just come on to him. They seem to think being chosen means the woman is going around chasing and picking whatever man she likes.

What's also interesting is that a lot of these men will actually admit that women do choose, however they ONLY do so when they're making a point about how she chose a bad/abusive partner.

If a man wants to be seen as the prize, he needs to be the one chasing, pursuing and initiating. Being chosen and being chased at two completely different things.
