This may be a bit of a shock to you, but when they introduce themselves, human beings of any degree of social competence tell you those bits of their truth that advantage them, not those that advantage you. None is going to up and say "I flip burgers" unless they are a fucking moron.

Also, to be blunt, the working class spend a lot of time in serial monogamous cohabiting relationships. It is a hard old world out there for someone flipping burgers, even if a relationship is doomed and the people know it is doomed, if they've both got good solid immediate reasons such as affording to house themselves and not wanting to experience the hassles of joining a household full of strangers, the cohabiting relationship may still happen and last six months or a year or two years or whatever.

Part of the issue is that women tend to only seek out men who are equal or greater then they are in terms of qualifications. So imagine you’re a female lawyer who makes 200K a year. You’re probably going to seek out men of similar or greater socio-economic standing. This dramatically limits your options leading you to say “Where are all the good men at?”. Accordingly you must now cast out more lines into the ocean to get a catch; dating apps are one of these lines

Do you have any actual evidence of this other than your own perception? Tbh I cant say this has been my experience, lots of lame dutch bros hoes on tinder.

I could see why it would be the case though - vast majority of professional work settings have you much more isolated from meeting others, compared to something like the restaurant business.

are you using tinder? its geo-based so if you're swiping thru people in your neighborhood they most likely reflect those around you. and if you're a professional you likely live around professionals.

Maybe it's just because I'm posh, but 95% of the girls I ever saw when I very briefly dabbled with these apps looked like literal plebs. IMO, a degree or a 'professional' job doesn't really mean anything. All these white collar jobs nowadays are basically just upper-tier working class jobs for the modern, cosmopolitan world. They're not smart, but they're not so stupid that they can't crunch numbers or perform the tasks that they're trained to do. Just because they're sitting on their butts all day doesn't mean they aren't working class at heart, not really.

In the area where I'm in college, due to the overabundance of college students, dating app use skews (surprise!) college aged/college educated. Tinder/Bumble (especially Bumble) sunk their hooks into university populations and pushed hard to get young upper-middle-class types in. Right now the 'market' on dating apps looks very different in the northeast where I'm in school vs. at home in the south where I am now.

People who used or were around users of Bumble/Tinder in college are more likely to use it when they move on to their professional careers elsewhere than someone who's never looked over a friend's shoulder while she swiped/heard about a coworker's date/met someone who met their partner on Tinder or whatever.

Professional women (including teachers and nurses) work in primarily female environments. Food service is usually 50/50. You probably see more male construction workers in Tinder than cooks from your local Applebee’s.

From being from a working class background and reading here the working class seems to have a much easier time dating the men approach with more confidence and in a more relaxed manner and the women are more receptive and approachable and enjoy it even if its an eventual rejection.

Tinder searches radius based on location. So if you’re in a poorer neighbourhood you’ll see poorer people
Tinder also has algorithms to match people.

Speculation: working class folks have less resources to stay home all the time. They have to go out as necessity. This leads to a more outgoing persona. Less time spent on the internet. There’s a reason why Reddit seems to skew heavily white middle class.

Coming from a UMC background (Boston area, median home price in parents town is around $900K) and knowing lots of girls from high school, college age and now mid-late 20s.... very very few actually met dudes from dating apps. In fact it's mostly the single late 20s girls I know now who will very rarely go on a date from that. Back in college and high school? Never. You were surrounded by lots of similar age, single people who were also from more affluent backgrounds (or at least plain old MC).. why bother?
