So I've never been unsuccessful with getting girls. I'm tall, in pretty good shape and above average looks-wise, I'd always assumed this sub was full of "ugly" guys who couldn't get girls trying to come up with ridiculous theories as to why girls don't go after them and the only girls they're successful with are either ugly girls or girls with low self-esteem.

Despite what I said in the first paragraph there's always been one thing I've struggled to do... getting a girl to stick around... When I first get to know them they're super into me, far more than I'm into them, yet they're the one who always ends things, weird right?

Well my most recent "relationship" ended last week. Her reason for ending it was "This is getting too serious and I'm not ready for another relationship so soon", the typical bullshit.

So while I wallow in self pity I figure I'll have a look through the messages I sent her to remind me of the "happy times".

I go back when we first met. What I see shocks me... This guy sending my ex messages isn't the same person that this girl broke up with. Now I've always acted extremely cocky around girls I've just met, because I find it makes it easier to break the ice, it makes them laugh and strangely seems to make them feel more comfortable around me, when we first started dating my ex used to act as though she'd been hit sometimes and when I'd say "what's up?" she'd say "oh nothing, just got hit by your big head that's all", but I'd assumed it was mainly a joke, judging by the messages clearly not.

The guy sending these messages doesn't pay her a single compliment, sends short replies, bigs himself up and takes forever to reply to her, half of her messages include some form of "oh shut up you" or "haha you're so cocky ;)". No deep conversations, no clear indications he liked her, but THIS is the guy who got her in bed despite her "not being that kind of girl" and made her chase him, THIS is the guy she wanted.

I go back to the recent texts... Multiple sentences in most texts, quick replies, constantly calling her either cutie, beautiful or sending kiss-blowing emojis and sharing my feelings for her when I felt things were getting rocky... I go through from start to finish and see the gradual progression of myself from confident, cheeky and slightly arrogant to overbearing and uninteresting, and her interest in me slowly dwindles.

I go back to my relationship before that... Exact same situation. What. The. Fuck. I start off as a confident guy with extremely high SMV who you're going to have to give your A-game to get, down to some unexciting guy who you know will stick around you and doesn't seem worth the effort because he has nothing to offer you other than the compliments you could receive from any beta out there. This wasn't the same guy these girls thought they were signing up for.

Then I come to this sub because I'm interested to see what it's actually all about, I look at what red pill is, some examples, other people's stories etc... And I realise, when women want me is when I'm acting like I've taken the red pill, when they lose interest is when I lose those traits because I want to start "being nice" to them, in reality they don't want this "nice guy", they want the cheeky, cocky guy who's fun to be around, makes them feel they must have done amazingly to attain/keep around and makes them proud other women can't have him because of her.

Now what would I have changed if I could go back in time you ask? Would I have kept acting Red Pill to keep my ex around? Fuck no, the only thing I would've changed is instead of telling her how much I "regret things haven't worked" or how "I don't think I can be friends while I still have these feelings for you", I'd have simply told her "enjoy your life" and deleted her number. It's time for bigger and better things.

Here's to swallowing the red pill once more, and this time I'll make sure it stays down.
