I apologize for the long post. These questions have been rattling around in my brain for a while.

This comment was extremely interesting to me.

It's a fascinating comment and it makes sense that it was gilded 10 times.

The comment mentions that once you reach about $100M in net worth then you can easily have sex with all sorts of "[u]ltra-hot, world class, smart women":

Did I mention women? Because at this level [of wealth], they are all over the place. Every event, most parties. The polo club. Ultra-hot, world class, smart women. Power and money are an aphrodisiac and you have it in spades. Anything you want from women at this point you will find a willing and beautiful partner. You might not emotionally connect, but damn, she's hot.

1: Is this quote just fantasy? It seems TGTBT, even for someone worth $100M.

2: What exactly do these "[u]ltra-hot, world class, smart women" get from having sex with someone worth $100M? What perks do the women get exactly? I don't understand the transaction. The quote doesn't say that they're elite escorts or anything like that. It says that "[p]ower and money are an aphrodisiac and you have it in spades"; does that mean that these women actually enjoy the sex?

3: What if you're average-looking? What if you're worse than average-looking? Is the quote still accurate in that case? Why would women sleep with unattractive high-net-worth men?

4: Who exactly are all these "[u]ltra-hot, world class, smart women?" I understand the stereotypical gold-diggers, but they're not usually "smart," so I don't think that that's what the poster of the comment meant. She meant awesome "world class" women, not trashy gold-diggers. I imagine supermodels at these events, but they're not characteristically "smart," so I'm not sure who these mysterious elite women are.

5: What exactly are these women doing at "[e]very event, most parties?" How do they end up at these parties? How do they get invited?

6: What are these parties all about? Are these parties just a nexus of wealth/power/fame where wealthy businesspeople connect with other businesspeople, Hollywood movie-stars, supermodels, and so on? How exactly does this whole nexus/network work?

7: Isn't it awkward when these rich men hook up with these awesome "world class" women? I don't really understand the sexual transaction. But these men know damn well that if they weren't rich then the women would have nothing to do with them. And the women know that if they weren't ultra-hot then the men would have no interest in them, at least when it comes to supermodel-types. (Maybe that's a callous thing to say, but the conspicuous thing about a supermodel is her looks, and it seems like that's what attention from rich/powerful men is 100% based on. Or maybe that's incorrect and looks are just an aspect that gets positive brain-chemicals flowing so that you can see attractive aspects of the women's mind/heart/soul/personality.)

8: Isn't it also awkward when supermodels/movie-stars LTR/marry wealthy businessmen? There's an obvious transactional aspect. (I guess there always is a "transactional" aspect in a relationship, so maybe I'm being obtuse.) But it's exquisitely obvious in these marriages that (1) the women would not be with these men if these men weren't super-rich and (2) the men wouldn't be with the women if the women weren't super-hot. It's very transactional in that sense. Bar Refaeli married an Israeli businessman named Adi Ezra:

Ezra’s family business, Neto, is a food giant in Israel. The company was founded by his grandfather, Dudi Ezra. His father, Meir Ezra, still works at the company. Adi was pushed to the forefront of the business when it was relaunched in 2008, reports Haaretz. He’s appointed heir to the family’s fortune.

Obviously I'm not saying that he's an ugly man or that he doesn't have an attractive personality, but surely he knows (and she knows that he knows) that she wouldn't be with him if he weren't the heir to that fortune. I'm not sure where you'd rank his looks. Apparently, the couple "met through mutual friends" and "got engaged after about a year of dating." How does the nexus between wealthy businesspeople and supermodels like her work exactly?

Anne Hathaway is another interesting case. She was in an LTR with some sketchy businessman named Raffaello Follieri:

On June 24, 2008, Follieri was arrested on charges of defrauding investors out of millions of dollars in a scheme in which Follieri posed as the Vatican's point man on real-estate investing. It was reported that the FBI confiscated Hathaway's private journals from Follieri's New York City apartment as part of their ongoing investigation into Follieri's activities; however, Hathaway was not charged with any crime.

Obviously I don't know why she was with Follieri, but it seems like the money was a factor. I don't know Follieri's net worth. It's interesting that Anne Hathaway's husband Adam Shulman doesn't appear to be rich, so that totally breaks the pattern of going for wealthy businessmen. (Do you guys know any examples other than Hathaway/Refaeli that illustrate this dynamic of beautiful/famous women going for wealthy businessmen who aren't physically attractive? More generally, what relationships do you know of that illustrate interesting elite power-dynamics regarding wealth/fame/beauty?)

9: Do super-hot women cheat on their husbands in situations where they're with their husbands for any reason other than actual physical attraction? I mean, these are super-hot women who can sleep with any man they want, and they're trapped with someone they married for certain non-physical reasons. How can they not have constant fantasies about being with a man who is on their level looks-wise? You must constantly dream of having sex with hot movie-stars and guys who are as hot as you are. How can they not cheat in that situation?

10: How do things really work behind the curtain regarding movie-stars, celebrities, and so on? What are there lives really like behind the media-presentation, the talk shows, and all that highly-calculated stuff? (Or at least I think it's all calculated smoke-and-mirrors, but I guess there's no way to know for sure.)

11: To what extent are all these celebrities banging one another incessantly behind closed doors in a kind of figurative orgy?

12: Are celebrity LTRs/marriages just PR-presentations? Are they actually open LTRs/marriages behind the scenes? How does that all work?

13: How exactly does the whole "system" work regarding Leonardo DiCaprio? Apparently he has dated 100s of models. How do the logistics of this work? Does his agent just call up their agent and arrange for them to meet or something?

14: Do super-rich businesspeople also get their people to call up these models' agents or something to arrange meetings, invite them to private parties on their yachts, or something like that? I know I already asked about businessmen above, but I'm curious about how the logistical "system" works in the case of businessmen as well.

15: How exactly do things work when Leo just starts relationships with super-model at an elite party? He dated Bar Refaeli from 2005 to 2011 (was that an open LTR?), and this is how they met apparently:

They met at a party in Las Vegas. He approached her, she consented.

The person directly responsible for the shidduch is Israeli Danny Avikazer, 33, a party producer who lives in New York. The couple met on the night of November 4th of last year, a few weeks after DiCaprio ended his relationship with supermodel Giselle.

Avikazer was invited to organize a party in Las Vegas for U2 band members who were in town. DiCaprio, like hundreds of other celebrities, was invited to “decorate” the event. Also, Refaeli, who knew Avikazer from the glamorous parties he holds in New York, was invited to the private party and arrived escorted by her friend, model Adi Neumann.

16: Why exactly do supermodels line up to bang/date Leo? What do they get out of it exactly? Do they get a career-boost due to being associated with him; is that how the transaction works? Do they find him genuinely physically attractive? Do they actually enjoy the sex? Is he good in bed? AFAIK, he isn't particularly elite regarding physical attractiveness.

17: Regarding Leo/Clooney or whichever male celebrity, aren't ONSs/LTRs fundamentally awkward, because the woman knows that he's banged 100s of models/women before her? And she knows that he's only interested due to her looks and that he will dump her for another model soon if not immediately, right? And he knows that she's only interested in...well, whatever exactly the mysterious perks are that come from an ONS/LTR with Leo/Clooney...again, I don't know what these women really think about these men physically, how good the sex is, or what kind of non-physical/non-sexual benefit they get from the transaction. (I guess that when it comes to a lot of male athletes the physical/sexual rewards are much more obvious, since these men are in incredible shape at least.)
