Appearance, I suppose, would rank slightly higher, just because style choices are a great way for people to communicate under the radar.

I, personally, see younger women as MORE inclined on how they look. Same with younger dudes just to a lesser extent. Perhaps you see that older women might be more conservative or might use more makeup to hide the signs of aging?

it depends on what we value. a young girlfriend is a status thing for more insecure guys. (here come the "mangina libtard femnazi" accusations, but it's true) the balding 40-something professor will bend over backward to fuck a fat chick just because she's 23 or 24. he could have a decently attractive woman closer to his own age, but most of the time he'll go for the dumpy student. he needs her as a status symbol and reinforcement of his ability to pull, his masculinity depends on it.

with higher status dudes they care most about what she looks like and any other traits they're after. maybe they want a smart chick, someone accomplished and educated, whatever. generally younger women look better but for wealthy people that's less of a hard and fast rule. some rich housewife yoga mom in the suburbs looks at 36 like some poor white trash looks at 22. George Clooney married a younger woman, but he could have married someone much, much younger than that if he wanted.

guys like me I'll take what I can get sexually if I'm single, but I have rules for who I'll put my time and emotional energy into. I want a girl who looks good, and beyond that I want Independence and common sense. I've fucked with dating dumbass bitches because they were hot and that's time I'll never get back.

Appearance is more important. I prefer attractive, intelligent, mature, sophisticated women in the 30+ age bracket, or late 20s at the youngest. Of course I can appreciate a really hot 22 year-old, but it is overwhelmingly likely that we would have nothing in common.

On a "rational" level: the young woman. She may be "just" cute, but she'll be cute for a long, long time.

On an ~~emotional~~ muh dick level: probably the older yet more overtly beautiful woman.

Obviously character is fairly important, too, but all else equal.

Appearance, definitely. Looking young usually means fitting conventional beauty-standards better but that doesn't have to be the case. Older doesn't have to mean uglier. I'd pick Nigella Lawson over plenty of 20-somethings.

As a younger man (I'm 43) looks mattered a LOT more. This was particularly true during the hook-up phases of my dating life.

I've been monogamous for the past 3-4 years, but even if I were looking to hook up now, there would be a basement. While I may find a woman in her early 20s attractive, when she opens her mouth to speak it's probably going to be a boner killer. Not bc she's stupid, but her worldview is just going to be completely removed from mine. In my youth this would have been ok, but at 43 I just don't have the energy to deal with it. You start to develop a scale of "desire to fuck this person" vs "the potential drama they could bring to your life". Once your past 40, ANYTHING that adds drama is almost always automatically out, no matter how attractive it is.

The sort of loop-hole in this is the woman between 38-42 who's taken reasonable care of herself, who meets you and just wants to fuck, you're totally vulnerable to her, relationship status be damned.

Youth is part of appearance. If a young woman doesn't take care of her body or skin then it detracts from her appearance and she becomes equal or less than an older woman when it comes to attractiveness.

Depends on whether it is for short term flings or long term relationships. In the short term all that matters is that she looks good and is willing to fuck. So it is all on the appearance. I probably wouldn't even bother to know how old she is (except maybe make sure she ain't jailbait).

For LTR it's going to lean heavily on the youth side. After all appearance is only one aspect of what makes youth in women attractive. Younger women are better because they tend to have less experiences that can make them jaded. So they tend to retain more of their innocence and purity. Also the younger she is, the more years she stays fuckable.

it's impossible to make a comparison like that because there is such a wide range of women at either age. if you compare some hideous fat 22 year old to a 32 year old VS model, then obviously the model is hotter despite being older.

but if you talk about one woman's looks when she was 22 vs 32 or whatever, she was always hotter when she was younger. even if she didn't care a lot about her appearance when she was younger and then started trying harder when she got older. younger women don't need to care as much about their appearance.

the only exception to this is the rare examples of disgustingly fat 22 year olds who lost all their excess weight and got into good shape in their 30s. but that's just because obesity is a bigger negative than age.

It's obviously appearance. Youth is factored into the rating of her looks. eg. 35-year-old who is a 7/10 is probably facially an 8 or a 9, and a 19-year-old who is a 6/10, is probably only facially a 4 or 5.

It's just that women's faces and hair quality generally finish developing and ''feminising'' as early as their mid-teens (no paedo) and maybe as late as their very early twenties.

There's no physical improvement they can make (other than weight loss for those on the chubbier side of things) after they have finished puberty.

Men generally tend to have a few more years grace (unless they are a pretty boy), as their faces don't usually finish ''masculinising'' until around 20-24ish.

I've always preferred appearance to youth, honestly, because appearance can be maintained and improved by youth cannot.

You can be 30 or 45 and look very fit and smooth-skinned, and you can certainly be 21 and look fat and pimply. Lord knows teenagers where I grew up easily to skew towards the latter.

Choice no. 2 (appearance) pretty please. For several reasons.

I want a LTR, and older women are probably more likely to as well
Pretty much all of the women I'm attracted to (romantically) are in their late 20s, to their early 40s (early thirties is the best)
Older women have more personality
Older women are more mature
Older women are more likely to be able to be financially independent
