I see everywhere on Reddit and other sites showing that with the rise of dating apps and online dating, one of the effective ways to meet people are cold approaches. Whether it be bars, clubs or in the street, a lot of dating coaches will suggest approaching random people and asking for their number.

I really wonder... is there some sort of evidence to back this up that these actually lead to dating or LTR? I've never really heard of any situation where a couple would say they met in a public street or while the woman was sitting in a cafe and the man approached her and asked her out.

All the couples I know of either meet through dating apps like Tinder or Bumble or through college/work/mutual friends.

Do you know of anyone who met through cold approaches?
