I've been to like... a handful of brunches in my life haha and I'm 10x more likely to have mimosas than white wine. Girls will have "locker room talk" anytime we are together. Boys are a much more fun conversation than work/school crap.

From what I understand, men tend to not go into detail about the sex. It's more like "did you fuck? Yeah? Cool". Women it's like... discussed ad nauseam ha. All the foreplay, details about dick, what positions, etc.

I'm a guy and a lot of my female friends talk to each other candidly and vulgarly about sex etc around me. Then again I've known them since birth pretty much so we're about as asexual to each other as you can get.

Their talks were kind of why I was a little perplexed by the outrage of Trumps grab em by the pussy comment.

We talk about men much less than you think. I had wine and appetizers with a few GFs last week, we talked about what is going on in our lives, movies, politics, work, a few other things. I think most of us had red wine though. We have a rule that endless negative talk that is non specific is draining so we don't bother.

I had this very long comment typed up and then somehow got disconnected from my account so here is a quick rundown:

1.) The guy sounds a bit like a cringy old social worker who thinks he's "hip with the kidz" cause his nephew told him stories from school. Locker room talk is by definition talk that happens without the "others" being present (in this case men) - how the hell he came to the conclusion that women are "just like men", I do not know, but it seems like either projection or misinformation unless he literally bugged the place without telling the women.

2.) I have never attended a brunch with white wine that was only women so I really don't know any more than you on this specific scenario but it may just be because it is not my demographic (I'm young and not American)

3.) what I can talk about is what happens when I am with only female friends and we talk. Usually the locker room talk is stuff that we wouldn't say around men because it's pretty gross. Topics include anything and everything about Menstuarion (lots of it), sex (here it may be revealed who is good in bed but mostly it is more along the lines of "do you also feel like you need to pee during sex?"), other bodily functions etc.

There is also a certain amouny of gossip about people outside the group, as well as general talk about relationships (although everyone knows that what you say shows more about you than about the other person - if you keep complaining about your SO and dragging him through the dirt, we will participate but internally we are all judging you and see the end of your relationship)

4.) It is very different from the locker room talk of guys. Men and Women are different and the lack of thestosterone alone leads to us women tending not to posture around, be loud/ "alpha" and make crude jokes etc. for the sake of it. We socialize very differently and while some topics discussed may be similar (sex or relationships), the way we talk about them is not the same.

I regularly have brunches with my female friends, but we never discuss the dirty details of our sex lives. It's usually work or our relationships or pop culture. Nothing particularly juicy.

I would be a little uncomfortable learning the details of my friends sex lives with partners because I'm close with the guys, too. I don't want to know how they fuck.

When we do talk about fucking, it's not at brunch. It's more like drunken whispers at the bar, lots of giggling.

I don't really have any female friends, so I don't have "girlfriends" to go to brunches (or locker rooms) with. However, when I was younger my mother would have "get-togethers" with a group of her female friends and they'd talk for hours about their relationships/marriages.

How good (or not) their guy was in bed, his size, how often they had sex, how often he asked for it, etc. Of course, they talked about regular topics too, but once the first wine bottle was gone, the sex comparisons would commence.

I am that fly on the wall. I work(ed) in a field which is like 90% women, and given my non-offensive friendly and sexually neutered attitude, women very quickly become comfortable talking about those things at work in the smoking room and even at happy hour.

And yes, women absolutely do have "locker room talk" and when it comes to judging and evaluating men, it's very much more brutal than anything I've ever heard from my male peers. As a really unattractive guy it certainly wasn't encouraging to hear even the hottest guys in the office get torn to pieces because for issues with penis size or shape, sexual proficiency or lack of (the right kind of) swagger.

Basically, women will talk about hot guys, school/life (basic no philosophy), periods, gossip, and other girl stuff. It sucks.
