I made this post a couple of days ago, but deleted it shortly after making it because I felt I worded my CMV poorly, causing the comments to get off track.

A little background about me; I am male and dont tend to identify as red/blue/purple pill. I dont even frequent this sub much, but after a bit of lurking I feel this would be the best sub to make my post. I have no data or research at all to back up my opinion. This is just my own opinion based from observations I have seen.

Anyways, I was curious about people opinions on "N-counts", and I noticed a trend. Whenever the topic of "does past sexual history matter to you?" comes up, I noticed men tend to care about that kind of stuff, and women seem to care less. I believe the reasoning behind this is because women tend to date down, and by down I mean men less attractive than them. I feel this is because women dont want to become jealous of potential competition, be compared to past partners, and wanting to be "the best" that the guy can get or has ever gotten. Being "the best" isnt something only women want.

In my observations, men and women go about wanting to be their partners "best" differently. Men handle that by wanting to date a girl with a lower N-count. The lower the N-count, the higher the chances of the guy being "the best". Women on the other hand, deal with it completely differently. Instead of worrying about things like N-counts and past partners, women would just rather date a guy who is less(or not all) physically attractive. By doing this they dont have to deal with jealousy/competition/curiosity. By dating down, they dont have to deal with any of that, they will know they were the best.

TLDR; Women date down(dating someone physically unattractive or not as attractive as them) so they dont have to deal with jealousy and past sexual history.
