Ok, so I glanced across this comment in someone else's post, and it reflects what I have seen in a lot of other comments and women I know in real life.

So read the comment, but I am particularly interested in this part

If a dude is interesting/someone I am interested in getting to know, then I'd want him to hold off on asking for numbers right away etc. Take his time.

So as man, and I am saying this honestly, I can't understand this type of perspective. I know from the first few moments of looking at a girl if I want to have sex with her or not. If I do find her sexually attractive, the willingness to have sex is there right from the beginning. It can happen as soon as she allows it to.

Now, I am asking this in search of knowledge. I am not trying to judge anybody here.

What does it mean when a woman(you), says that she needs to get to know a guy first before she wants to have sex? Like what changes in feelings or desires do you feel if you do this? Specifically, does getting to know a guy make you more horny for him?

Secondly, is the decision to put off sex because you find a guy interesting conscious or unconscious? Like do you actually feel like having sex initially, or is the desire not there at all?

As a man, this is something else I can't wrap my mind around. If a girl is an interesting person, it would be way more fun to have sex and then talk about interesting stuff, rather than skip out on the sex.
