I completely disagree with this honestly. Rape lasts a few hours at most, of course there are memories and social stigmas and emotions, but once it's over it's over. Losing the family you have worked for and supported for years, that you imagined you would have for the rest of your life, is a much more traumatic experience because it never ends.

It certainly feels like it and unless you have your life earnings that would've been your nest egg lost, and your children who are your pride and joy taken away from you, you have no right to determine what divorce rape is.

I never liked these kinds of comparisons anyway, although I suppose I've gotten used to them. Just like how some people might refer to police officers in a democratic-republic such as the U.S. as "Nazis" or "Fascists." There's absolutely no comparison whatsoever, yet it seems to get thrown around a lot. I don't worry too much about it, though. The actions or events in question can be examined and addressed as they are, but what people choose to call it is merely politics.

Of course, I also wouldn't minimize or underestimate the trauma of losing one's possessions or access to one's children.

Its a stupid expression because it dilutes the experience of being raped and of having your family and property taken away from you in a divorce. Lets not even argue which is worse but do we call every genocide a holocaust? The Rwandan holocaust, the native american holocaust? Is that to say all these other genocides are not worth mentioning if we don't call them holocausts? Its stupid. TRP just calls it divorce rape to piss off feminists and its childish. I agree that men are often heavily punished in child support and custody cases so why don't we find a way to describe that that adequately reflects that horror of having to pay massive amounts of money you can't ensure your children get or having your children taken away from you and having no power to see them or protect them. TRP will say oh that feeling is like rape but its not. Rape is being unlawfully penetrated or forced to perform sex acts against your will. I'm not saying either is worse its just not rape, so find another word to adequately reflect the issue and more women in the middle won't be so caught up in the offensive use of the term rape.
