Divorce rates are getting higher, and less and less people are getting married. Now, what would make people happier in the long run, leading to less pumping and dumping would be to get married as soon as possible. However, neither men or women are likely to give up short term pleasure for long term pleasure.

Studies show married women are less happy than single women, as they do more work in the relationship. This has probably always been the case, but in the past women had to get married because they had fewer options to work - hell, it was less than 100 years ago that we were granted the right to own property!

Now the fact of the matter is that women don't want a partner with equal value to them.

This isn't the "fact of the matter". It's just made up shit on the Internet by bitter people who are unhappy no one loves them.

Their only choices are to go against their nature and settle, lie about their past behavior to a new partner, or to accept their place below men and allow them to "cheat".

Never done any of these things or even considered them an option. I'm in an equal partnership; I didn't settle or lie to get there. My place is certainly not below men.

If women only go for the top 20% of men, then those 20% men will choose the top 20% of women, correct? If that's the case, the top 20% of men end up with the top 20% of women.

Everyone is trying to choose the best partner they can get. In that process of trying to choose the best partner, your potential partner is also trying to choose their best partner. This ends up canceling out hypergamy and you end up with a partner roughly equal to you.

True nature is, by nature, brutally unfair. There's no way around biology. Any woman fucking a man is instinctively weighing his genes against the 9 month investment of growing his baby. Woman, by their biological drive, have no reason to make any compromises when it comes to the genes of their sexual partners. Two quotes. They contradict each other. How? Markets sell products, a products value is determined buy the buyer. Which means, the value of any given commodity, is determined by the buyer and thus subjective. This is important because it means that we cannot consistently predict what has value. Right? We can can't say if an IPhone has value for any person in particular because we don't know what that person looks for in a cell phone? They might prefer a cell phone of another type. Because value is subjective, that's one of the key properties of a market.

The key point here, is that the idea that it's a marketplace contradicts the logic that all the women want the same thing, the top 20%. Which, doesn't tell us much. They may have preferences, like all consumers, which are subjective. But like all consumers not all preferences are weighted the same and not all properties of a commodity are considered equal.

In short, when you characterize dating as a market and then say you know their exact preference... you undermine your first point. You're implying women work, collectively, as a monopoly, that they're a monolith. This, simply isn't true. There's not a single shred of data that demonstrates women act as a monolith.

Whether people want to accept it or not, women's sexual nature does not promote equality.

When you're a loser, women overlooking you will always feel like hypergamy. But really, it's that you need improve your circumstances and stop blaming other people for your inability to do something right.

In short, she's not interested in a "high value male" she's just not interested in losers.

Hypergamy is bullshit because everyone wants to be with someone who makes them better. The idea of trying to "marry up" isn't a new one. For some reason men constantly shoot this term at women, without understanding the historical context.

There was a time where women would indeed look for higher status men. This is because society as a whole, mostly run by men, disallowed women basics rights... like fucking voting. So women, we left to work within a very narrow system, created by men. They had to try to marry men where they would be safe and comfortable. This is rational. Because in the context of having no rights, then your only option is to try to pair "up".

But the times, they've a changed. Women do this less, because status is generally less of a thing. Women want, what all humans want... to be with someone that compliments them. We're a capitalist society so capital matters. So women and men tend to seek out partners that can earn capital. Who have capital. No one wants to be with someone lazy and because of the issues men are having with work, money and education women are just not interested and I don't blame them. Men need to get their shit together. You're the not the privileged class anymore. Dust yourself off and figure it out. If you're not getting dates, maybe get a better job or work hard... or go get an education... because no one wants to marry someone broke and in debt.

Booy, you have some serious issues. Ever occoured to you that maybe the reason for people not getting married at age 16 is not because they “want to have a lots of sex before marriage”? Maybe they want to have a secure financial backround so when the start a family with the right people they would not have to worry about feeding their kids? Maybe women do not want to start a family at the age of 16 because they want to study before they start a family, they want financial independence? God, try to justify that you don’t have a girlfriend by implying “all women are hoes”, but it won’t get you far buddy. A woman's goal is to have the BEST man she can.

If the goal is children, you choose the best father for them, i.e. status, money, looks, not what would be societally fair. If the goal isn't children, you can ease the requirements and only go for looks. Seeing as women don't have the same libido as men outside a relationships, they get to do the picking. Men too would go for the best-looking, if they could.

I agree that women claim to want equality but undermine it with their own sexual choices. I would add that women are the strongest incentive for men to seek powerful positions and keep women away from these positions. These men are literally rewarded for promoting inequality in the workplace, by the same women who claim to want equality. Equality in power, status and economy is just a mathematical impossibility until women take a deep hard look at their own sexual choices.

Umm, I don't think we can. I've kept asking TRP people to defend this idea and they just say "it's just a figure of speech" or some such thing. No one seems to want to defend or explain this concept any further than just the two sentences you gave there, the rest is left to the readers imagination.

The best one can do is try to frame sex or relationship as mutual exchange to make a marketplace. But this renders concept of "market value" entirely irrelevant as you do not have any currency, and the only valuation that matters is the subjective one by the one you do your exchange with, the rest of the market may as well not exist for it.

You of course can define terms however you like. But the more people that don't care about your marketplaces goals, the less of the things it explains.

Curiously over 20% of women are married. So we're obviously not taking womens actions or words as something we should take into account when trying to understand what they want. But that's not really my point here...

The tension between the female hypergamous impulse and equality as promoted by many schools of feminism is probably the most important problem with feminism.

That said, I don't agree with how you have expounded on it. The 80/20 rule is not written in stone. Nor is the female unhappiness problem entirely attributable to the factors you have listed in the manner you have done.

The biggest problem is that very few women are willing to openly and objectively discuss this issue. However, when so many men put the problem like you do, it is easy to understand why women would go on the defensive here and refuse to admit there is even a problem.
