There are some plus sized models I find HOT so this is merely the opinion of some ~~loser~~ guy.

If the picture of the author, someone earlier shared, is true then he is fat and should do other men a favor and not have children. Fat parents are more likely to have fat kids. So, if he had a daughter she might grow up to be one of these fat women who don't deserve love.

The people who claim that fat shaming doesn’t work make my head spin. Of course shaming works. Ever wonder how Chinese and Korean girls stay so skinny? It’s not because of genetics, it’s because if they gain so much as five extra pounds, their parents will snicker and call them “fatty” to their faces.

I don't mean to take a dump on Asian culture, but this arguably one of the most disgusting parts of the culture to revere. Obviously the parents love their children and want the best for them, but it's attitudes like this combined with the insane school system that leads to alarmingly high suicide rates among young people.

Suicide is a national issue in Japan, I think it's incredibly insensitive to make light of that.

This article was poorly argued, and doesn't make a whole lot sense. Having said that, I have to take issue with the argument in your edit.

Let's try applying your reasoning that fat men "don't need an advocate" because "there are fat men everywhere in positions of high earning potential, fame, accolades etc." to other groups.

I could easily say based on that logic that black men don't need an advocate because "there are black men everywhere in positions of high earning potential, fame, accolades, etc." Successful black males- Barack Obama, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Donald Thompson, Kenneth I. Chenault, Jay-Z, etc.

Or that women don't need an advocate because "there are women everywhere in positions of high earning potential, fame, accolades, etc." Successful Women- Hillary Clinton, Sheryl Sandberg, Marissa Mayer, Meryl Streep, Lady Gaga, Sofia Coppola, etc.

Trying to determine the experience of an entire group by cherry picking examples of a few outliers doesn't make sense. We need more real data in order to make those kind of judgements.

A) No one deserves anything. Internalize this.

B) I can see just from the lead photo that the article is not meant to be read in super cereal fashion.

C) Those fat males are/were among the best of what they do (acting/comedy/opera). Success is an attraction trigger for women.

D) Some of them still struggled with being labeled "the fat guy" and suffered for it (Farley).

E) Unattractive shrews of a woman have dominated loser men in plenty of current sitcoms.

As a TRP man, the crazy hatred of fat women is not one of the things I necessarily agree with or relate too.

Then again, I'm not supportive of insulting anyone's appearance in general. Anyone with a half a brain knows how extremely easy it is to put on weight in todays modern culture and how extremely hard it is to remove it. Your body is literally built that way because you're supposed to be living in the African Savannah, not 2nd Avenue across from the Quickie Mart and Pizza Pizza.

The real issue here, is the idea of women demanding of men that which they aren't themselves worth, or matched, and most women do this; it has nothing to do with fat, skinny, tall, or short. ie. if you are a 2, and you demand your sexual partner be an 8, you're an unreasonable hypcrite, and deserve to be insulted in that context.

However, I think the angle that TRP people, like this guy are actually upset about is women's ability to demand unreasonable and hypocritical demands of men, and actually have them met because for every 2 demanding a 8, there's a sex-starved 7, or 6, or 5 willing to bang her for whatever reason.

Is that what the "fat acceptance" movement is about? Just another expression of the feminine imperative, demanding access to male resources?

To me it actually sounds like something a tad different. Ie, a bunch of fat women bitching that they aren't valued and loved and respected more. Because they seem to think they're entitled to that by default.

The issue (imo) isn't that they want more money and jobs and power. That's more the purview of your typical older, cold-blooded, feminist careerist who thinks we need more female/feminist _______s (writers, biologists, CEOs, etc.)

Granted I haven't looked into the fat acceptance movement too deeply. Because the only thing that disgusts me more than entitled princesses are morbidly obese entitled princesses. Feel free to CMV.

You Don't Mess With Zohan. Kind of. Not married, just Lainie Kazan having a fling with Adam Sandler who actually looks that good in that movie that I seriously didn't recognize him at first. It was funny. I actually argued with my wife that Sandler must have just directed this one because I haven't seen him in the movie. And Kazan is really a lot bigger than in her previous movies...

You wanna know why this is the case? Because women care and like to marry rich guys, whether the guy is fat or not. If a guy is rich and successful and fat, he will still have women all over him. Guys on the other hand are far less materialistic and are more into physical traits. So therefore women are the ones who enable fat guys to still be successful and attractive.

Telling a women she's beautiful in her own way even though she's fat is the same as telling a man he's rich in his own way even if he's homeless.

I'm gonna go completely off on a tangent and address the "fat girls are crazy" thing. Also that 25% figure I keep seeing. Everyone else is doing a good job of responding to the rest of it.

First of all, this does not say that being fat makes you crazy. It could be that a lot of things associated with mental illness are more likely to make you fat. For one, one of the symptom clusters of depression include decreased motivation, catatonia (although this can include things like pacing), increased sleep time, and increased appetite. Depression can cause weight gain, which is one of the most common disorders.

Second, psychiatric hospitals make you fat. Psychiatric patients, men and women, have a higher average weight than people in general because they basically don't have much to do other than eat and sleep - they don't get let out much, don't get much exercise, and generally don't eat that well.

Third, certain medicines make you gain weight as a side effect. Some antidepressants can do this, along with antipsychotic meds used to treat schizophrenic people, but that's a small percent of the population.

There are a host of things related to mental illness that can make you fat. So if the fat girl isn't already depressed or in a psychiatric hospital, then it's quite possible she isn't more "crazy" than anyone else. In fact, according to TRP, she might even make up for her lack of conventional attractiveness by cultivating her interests and being more interesting to raise her SMV.

Also, that 25 percent figure drives me nuts. 25 percent of women will, throughout their lifetime, be diagnosed with a mental disorder. This includes Adjustement Disorder (a really short term disorder that basically means "some crap happened like my dad died and I have to adjust to it, so I went to a therapist to talk me through it". It's basically a disorder so therapists can have insurance cover it), which is the most commonly diagnosed mental illness, and it is not indicative of any sort of mental problem. At all. And women are probably more likely to seek help because it is less acceptable for men to talk about their feelings, so women would tend to get diagnosed more.

Also, disorders that are majority men are disorders that often go without getting reported because they don't go to treatment for it, and numbers of people who go to treatment is one major way we get our statistics. For example, Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder are majority male, but people don't go into treatment for those because people with those don't think they need help.

Anyway, those two things get under my skin, the rest of it is already kind of obviously... unnecessary. Or mean. Whatever you wanna call it.
