OP I couldn’t have said it better myself. Good for you for speaking against it. I’ve been banned from that subreddit (they reversed it but I haven’t gone back in there since). I was peer pressured into giving oral sex when I was 14 and was bullied badly for it, I wasn't ready sexually at all so it was traumatic. I dudnt have a boyfriend, not until I was 18. I always thought it was a waste of time. That being said when I was 18, the guys friends I lost my virginity to(not boyfriend ugh 🤦) also bullied the fuck out of me. They were actually making fun of me for losing my virginity (dafuq they were the same age as me and older) I took the "sex positive" movement as a way to reclaim my sexuality. I thought it was empowering for me, like it was my choice and you can't bully me for it. It wasn't until I read more into it that I realized it was actually more harmful and more damaging to my psyche. At the end of the day I just wanted and got positive attention for something I got negative attention for in the past. Deep down it was still so men would approve, pickmeisha bullshit.

I didn't have a healthy and normal sexual experience and the way I dealt with it wasn't healthy and normal. Unfortunately it took me a long time to recognize and unlearn those behaviors but I'm glad I did. It's never too late to evolve.

People seem to forget, fully consented sex work is the minority. (This is excluding women who are groomed)

If they want sex work to be about women empowerment, they need to prosecute the men who buy it vs the Women who sell it. They would help the women who sell it to get to a place where they don't have to sell it. Rehabilitate them and separate them from their abusers and provide counselling.

That is women empowerment. Bringing them to a place of absolute benefit, prosperity and healing.

Putting a price tag on something priceless lowers the value of not only how others will see you (this bit does not matter), but you see yourself as well (most important).
