Would you eat a bowl of m&ms where 10% (or even just 10 pieces) were poison? Ofc not. Let's just start saying ALL men. Bc the perps are ALL made up of men. 90%+ is good enough to count as ALL to me.

And fuck the men saying this isn't a valid argument bc the unpoisoned ones have nothing to do with the ones that are poison. That's not the point. The issue is they ALL look identical to each other and there's no way to tell them apart without taking a risk and eating some.

The personal risk often just isn't worth it.

Why opt for the stress? It is stress you get when you relent against your better instincts but still have to be on your guard. Like trying to engage through a door that's open just a crack. Or you keep the door closed, and what passes for conversation turns out as muffled shouting. It's almost kinder to stay silent. And less headache too.

For virtually all my life I've ruled out dating white men, and there are other demographics I've since added to the list. Wouldn't be fair to me, or them, to try. To demand they show, time and time again, that they're not [x] as I suspect, and to worry all the while that my suspicions will be proven right. So I don't bother. I make the unilateral decision for the good of both parties that the stress isn't worth the potential outcome.

A bit disappointing, I suppose, to write off a large segment of the population. It's not their fault (or mine) that we can't freely mingle. History is what it is, and individualism can't overcome that. Until society can be truly post-racial and post-gender (highly unlikely in our lifetime) this context will always come between us.

I don’t actually understand the issue with not all men. Can someone please explain it to me. I feel stupid asking the question but I just don’t get the FDS stance on it and I want to.
