It's not uncommon in these debates to come across comments asserting the essentially bland, "basic" nature of women: Women are boring; Women don't have hobbies; Women are all the same, etc. The implication is always something like "thank god we men came along and invented civilization to save these feral nymphs from themselves. Why do they keep complaining about glass ceilings when the grass huts we found them in are so much worse?"

Whether or not this view of women is accurate is secondary to the much more obvious fact that there is a significant difference between the value structures of men and women, and the ways/things we choose to focus on. As the empathy gap between the sexes widens, so diminishes our ability to appreciate the necessity of the opposing perspective. We resent the roles we are expected to play for each other and instead insist on judging women as failed men, and men as failed women.

Thus, "Men are so immature" and "Women are vapid whores" are inverse 2D perspectives of a 3D coin. We debase the truth by reducing it in this way.
