I did when I was younger. I met them pre-puberty before I liked girls which is probably a large part of why they're the only women I ever considered myself platonic friends with.

I have a very close female friend. We actually used to date. I know that's unusual, but we just got on so well we decided to give being friends a go. Now it seems weird that we ever dated. I'm so glad that I decided to keep her in my life. When I moved house, she got up at 5am and drove me halfway across the country. Three days in a row. I've done lots of stuff to help her as well, but she's a good friend.

I have very few common interests with women, so keeping friendship without common interests boils down to few hanging outs, congratulating birthdays/Christmas.

I have none. In the past, I've had female friends through work, but I don't tend to stay in touch with them when I or they move on. Generally, I have little in common with women. Even with my wife, I don't think we'd be friends if we weren't married.

I have a 50/50 gender ratio on close female and male friends.

And me female friends are those than end up telling me how they fucked the dude last friday and stuff like that.

I appreciate having them in my life but sometimes they just talk too much and banter too little.

I have a whole group of female best friends. By and large, they're practically identical to my male best friends, with the only exception being I probably don't have a 1:1 female best friend that I pour my whole life into or anything like that. I save that for the bros and my partner.

I have female acquaintances but one of the problems with being considered attractive\cathc is that women don't hang around if they aren't getting the D or the relationship.

I am constantly attempting to push some girls toward the friendzone because I do enjoy having them around BUT it never works out because apparently it has to be one or they ghost.

And again...when one of these girls who is in our groups does start a relationship, it isn't very comfortable to her new mate to be hanging out with attractive other guys in the same way. The dynamic completely changes to where she is no longer close, joking and most of what makes a friendship..they have to always be 'distant'.

I have learned over the years to keep a certain aloofness to avoid some of the awkwardness.

I had one group of friends post-high school, which was like 7 guys and 6 girls. I was very close with them, especially with the 5 or 6 of us that hung out all the time. My best friend was a guy in the group.

Looking back, the idea that the dynamic had no sexual aspect to it is just absurd. Talking about sex constantly aside. One female friend telling me "I'm going to wear your favorite bra tonight." Or the party where we dared the girls to run to the neighbors house and back shirtless, or lick whipped cream from each others' faces. Yeah, totally platonic. It's also apparent to me that different people added different things to the group. The guys had more personality, and the girls were nicer to look at. One girl in particular was a ditz, but she was an adorable ditz who was endlessly cute and entertaining. Put that same personality in a guy's body, she's not getting invited to hang out so much. And of course that went unspoken, but it seems clear to me now.

Nevertheless, actual sex was off the table. I wish I could go back and say boldly how fucking ridiculous that was to me, and how of fucking course I was jerking off most nights to fantasies of the girls taking turns sitting on my face or some shit. It's just one of these quirks of what we are told socially, combined with what is to people's advantage to believe and tell themselves, that creates this thing where we pretend to believe one thing, but do another.

I also had another group of friends, and the girls in that group were less attractive, but even more blatantly sexual. Flirting, spankings, grab-ass on the dance floor, etc. These female friends actually wound up standing the test of time better, because the balance wasn't off: We both did about what we wanted to do, maybe in retrospect I should have fucked one, but that's okay. I get them. They're married now, and I'm nothing but happy for them.

3 of my closest friends are female, and 3 of my closest friends are male. I have a “good” friend that used to be an FWB, but we’re completely platonic now.

I’ve always had mixed friend groups (gender, race etc), and it really does help you to empathise and understand that noone has it all good. It’s very hard to see women as aliens or objects when your friends has confided their worries, failures, success and ambitions to you.

I don't have female "best" friends.

I have female friends that come and go (I have moved around a lot).

One of the longest frermale friends I had when I was younger was pretty cool, she would help me meet women, then she would go off get with guys. Sure if she was fucking a guy down an allyway and I hadn't pulled she liked me to stick around in case he got violent. But that never happened.

I have one work colleague thats kinda close.

All my other female friends are really FWB's.

But I don't make a lot of close friendships as it is. Being a cured introvert means I'm quite happy with a small group of friends.

I have 1, it's a leftover from when I was transmitting from simp/Mr Nice Guy" to *"Good Man".

For a long time I wanted to sleep with her, but didn't because I thought she was out of my league / I was not good enough.

The girls who did the most for me were girls from my school when we were pre pubertal. I had a very bad habbits of forgetting to bring my lunch and girls would gladly share their lunch with me, ofc boys could too but since I didn't ask, boys don't come to help. Anyways girls did and not just this, they helped me in various things throughout the school.

After puberty, tho everythig changed. Now I've some 20 close female friends who I see every month and something like 400 female acquaintances who I've met atleast 3 times last year.

Thing is these friends don't exist if I stop doing favours to them. I am a "utility guy", so I've that value for them. I am an interesting tool which makes their life easy and that's all about it. They are of no help to me, whatsoever but it's good sometimes to spend time with them to not appear as "lonely weirdo" to society.

I've got about three more kinda close that I can trust for pretty anything. Two are lesbian, if that makes a difference to anybody for any reason.

I think the best aspect of being platonically close to women is that it keeps me humble and keeps me cognizant of the fear women have of men. I always hear stories about creepy dudes they deal with regularly downtown, and it helps me to be a more sensitive person.

Dudes who have no female friends tend to be a lot creepier because they aren't aware of how their actions are perceived by women. They don't understand or respect The FEAR women rightfully feel.

I just don't have any heterosexual (or feminine) close female friends.

It is pretty common to men with interest on the functioning of the sexual/relationship markets to have women friends or be close to women in general, after all they are interested in understanding women's behavior.

Although, I have to say, It is quite easy to become red or black pilled. Women's flaws are pretty clear once you take a good look at them. It is pretty clear women have very little interest in anything but social matters. Which to most men is a pain in the arse. But thankfully enough, lesbians do not expect men to be women. At least for these sides of the globe.

I had some close male friends here and there in life, and one close female friend. Female friends are a mindfuck because as it turns out, i tend to want to have sex with them. Idk to what extent its possible to have a standard, classic “friendship” under those circumstances so I tend to avoid them.
