Summary: late 30's woman experiences sadness when realizing she will likely be alone forever, yet doesn't realize at all her situation is entirely caused by her actions. Link: https://archive.is/X1cR4

Body: Pretty straight forward example, but let's go and break out all the individual instances that make up her rationalization. The table below has a direct quote from her (relatively short spiel), the middle column tries to get at her implication, and the right column either sheds some light a logical flaw or makes a comment.

Let's go.

I spent most of my 20s and early 30s focusing on work and traveling a lot. I was open to love but due to looking for someone within my religion, my options have been extremely limited. I've dated outside of it, but it just works better when I'm with someone of the same beliefs. But now I'm nearly 40 and have never been married and due to my biological clock, and I feel like the window has narrowed even further. I've never been one to push in relationships, and I just haven't had as much opportunity because the pond in which I'm fishing is smaller. Over the last few years ,I've had some really good and bad relationships that haven't worked out for various reasons (one guy was verbally abusive, another moved out of state, etc.) But I still believe in love...just wondering if it'll ever happen for me. I feel like some guys don't even consider dating me because the want to have a family. I would really like a family too but feel like it may not get to happen now, and that fact makes me really sad. :( I was just reading in another forum about how as long as guys "find someone 35 and younger" they'll be OK if they want a family. Right now it feels like my only option may be guys much much older than I am. Any advice for when things feel hopeless dating-wise?

RP inspired deconstruction and response:

Direct Quote What She is Implying Red Pill Perspective
Nearly 40, never married, and dating - feeling frustrated Poor me! Feeling frustrated becomes time to change something
I spent most of my 20s and early 30s focusing on work Excuse for current situation Foreshadowing
and traveling a lot I'm a busy interesting person Lots of people can manage work, travel, and a host of other responsibilities on top of it; no excuse
I was open to love as long as I want it, it should come to me, right? Passive attitude again...expects to just be given things
Due to looking for someone within my religion, my options have been extremely limited there's so few Alpha religious choir boys for me! but wait, if she lacks options, why does she act so picky?
I've dated outside of it, but it just works better when I'm with someone of the same beliefs I'm a princess and I dersve perfect again, no perspective to change herself. She places the burden on the world to meet her need. Notice up to this point there is no mention of anything she brings to a potential relationship
But now I'm nearly 40 and have never been married the WALL is approaching! it's already over for her...she is just not willing to realize it due to my biological clock, and I feel like the window has narrowed even further
Over the last few years, I've had some really good and bad relationships that haven't worked out for various reasons it's not me, it's something or someone else! assuming she's been dating since age 16, and she's a good branch swinger, she could have had ~20 years of "dating experience" by now. With some self reflection, should it be so hard for her to keep a relationship?
I feel like some guys don't even consider dating me because the want to have a family why do I get less attention now than when I did at 22? the lessons she is learning at ~38/39 she should have learned at 26/27. But she was * busy*
I would really like a family too but feel like it may not get to happen now, and that fact makes me really sad. :( why don't I get what what I want? Wah! "may not get to happen"...again no mention of what she is doing to change her situation
Right now it feels like my only option may be guys much much older than I am. Why doesn't Chad want me? no explanation needed for the "nearly 40s" spinster
Bonus comment: I'll take another break. The holidays can be brutal but there's still much fun to be had. :) oh well, the carousel is still fun! some people never change

Summary takeaways:

  • Even in the simplest TwoX case, there is passivity, victimhood, and extreme rationalization

  • Very self-focused females lack the empathy to provide a lot to a relationship because they expect to get all the benefits while not taking into account any work or sacrifice required to get there

  • the Wall is real. the Carousel is real.

tl;dr: classic example of almost 40 year old female wondering why her options are suddenly limited / non-existent
