I recently decided I needed to get a hold of my love life. I've always been terrible with women and its holding me back. I've been soaking in TRP for months now and I've finally moved to a new city away from all my old friends and family to try and make something of myself.

My father is so beta that it makes me want to puke. He's a great father, he provided for me very well when I was a kid, but he was very absent and we've never been close. I love him very much, but I don't want to be anything like him.

He's constantly made fun of me me about not having a girlfriend and always harasses me about giving him grandkids. Today he called me up and had "The Talk" with me. Told me I needed to "Get a life" (AKA get married and have kids), that i need to quit my current job because It doesn't give me enough personal time. Told me I that I need to move back home because all my friends and family are there (Which is exactly why I moved away).

I was furious. All day long I was bitching and complaining about how he's never given a crap about what I wanted, and how dare he tell me how I should live my life. And its his fault I'm like this in the first place. I'm extremely successful and worked very hard to get to where I am. I'm 25, no debt, a good paying job, great shape. But apparently he doesn't think I have a "Life" unless I have a girlfriend. Anyone over 30 who's not married with no kids is a fucking loser in his eyes. I was thinking that I needed to tell him that its not okay he talks to me like that. How its my life, and tell him how he's never given a crap about what I wanted. And if I wanted to move back home doesn't he think I fucking would have?

And then I realized "what would an alpha do in this situation?" The answer? "Go to the gym. And ignore him." Once i realized this, all the anger subsided.

I'm done with ultimatums. You speak to me like that, you're gone, I'm not going to get upset, i'm not going to disagree, i'm just going to say "okay" and ignore you.

This may not be a big deal to a lot of you but I'm in tears I'm so happy I realized this. Thanks to ya'll.

Edit: Thanks for all the support. I have a wonderful family, including him, that I wouldn't trade for the world. I'm very lucky to have him as a father, he worked very hard to give what I have today and I wouldn't have the financial success without the work ethic he imparted into me when I was a kid. I"d never cut him out of my life to the point i'd never see him again. He tried very hard to be a father when I was young, but was so overwhelming blue pill he had more issues that I did (still does). But I'm constantly letting him drag me down. It has to end.
