What made you a MGTOW?

Women.

Women don't believe in romance. Men do. Women aren't sentimental (well, sometimes about their children - and that's good!) Men are.

Disney was a man. The Grimms were men. Chaucer was a man. Shakespeare. Petrarch. Only men believe in romance.

I'm too much of a romantic. I envy guys who can see through women but are willing to try anyway. Maybe it is insecurity on my part (I'm pretty confident, but it could be subconscious), but the fact that women are so hypergamous and disloyal turns me off.

I'm not a misogynist. I love women and, because I'm not really looking to date anymore, have some amazing friendships with women. Ever since I was 4 or 5, I wanted to get married and have children and always looked forward to it. I still wish I could. It breaks my heart sometimes that I won't.

But I can't be in love with a woman. I was too brainwashed by fairy tales.

i will spare you my life story and just skip to the good part. In the space of two years a bunch of things happened.

I discovered PUA and got good at it. This allowed me to see that women were in fact not wonderful. I fucked a few married women, had one night stands with "good girls", I basically pulled back the curtin. Had someone exposed me to the red pill before pua, I wouldnt have believed them. PUA opened my mind enough to be able to objectively consider things contrary to what I had been fed my whole life.

I and ten other men were arrested because a girl at a party said she might have been raped and she cant remember anything about the night before including where she was, and who she was with.

I was accused of theft in civil court, and the judge believed the plaintiff, with no evidence, just because she was a middle aged lady and I was young man. I know this because the judge said things like "I cant see why a mother would make these accusations if there wernt some truth to them".

My girlfriend's family had money. She never introduced me to them. Then I got a job paying 90k a year and suddenly she stops taking birth control and wants to get married.

These were the big things that made me realize women just arnt worth the trouble. I only need 40k a year to feel rich. If i let them women will enslave me, get me locked up, or worse...

My last girlfriend made me MGTOW. The way she dumped me and "traded up" for a married man who just wanted a piece on the side. And our whole large circle of friends, people who'd known me way longer than her, were all fine with it. In fact, the number of guys who went all "white knight" to defend her just made me ill. I lost a very large number of friends over that. And in spite of shenanigans she's pulled since then, to them she still can do no wrong. None of them have anything to do with me any more.

Oh boy.

When I was a teenager I noticed that my friends became pussywhipped when they got girlfriends. When I got older and paid attention to girls, I noticed something was "off" about the way men went after women. Girls were horrible to men and they could get away with it...But my thoughts felt taboo, as if I couldn't say a bad word about women or I'd be labelled as a bitter guy.

Then I found TRP, and suddenly Hypergamy and Briffault's Law made sense. It explained everything and something clicked. But something "clicked" even more when I read The Manipulated Man by Esther Villar, and suddenly I could dodge bullets without even having to try.

Everything made sense.

Suddenly I noticed all the miserable married men around me. It was shocking and I'm only in my early 20s. I even had 40 year old men nearly crying after a few drinks spilling their misery. And on top of that, the manginas...became easy to identify.

What really made me turn MGTOW though was when a girl with a bf went after me and said she could go to the authorities and tell them I forced myself on her because she's "a girl, and everyone believes the girl".

That's when I realized there was no spoon. xD

My whole life has been spent observing people and gradually rejecting blue pill thinking.

Before i was old enough to go to school i already ruled out marriage and traditionalism.

Before i was old enough to go to highschool i had already rejected god and religion.

During this time i focused all of my free time improving myself by getting better at sports, videogames, guitar and tinkering with computers. Any relationships i had were initiated by girls and didn't tend to last very long because of how little attention i payed to them.

Before i was old enough to go to university i had already stopped dating and gave up on relationships altogether. During this time i saw guys pussybegging and simping harder than ever before.

Within a few years i discovered TRP, then the MRM, and once i realized how utterly useless both of those are the natural conclusion was MGTOW.

Learning about male disposability was probably the last straw for me that caused me to completely check out.

Two years ago, my gf broke up with me, citing that an argument we had caused her brother and his girl to break up. I begged for her back, sadly. Then, after a few days of digging I called her phone and her bf answered. Told me everything. I found out she's been having a relationship with another guy for months. I confront her, she said it just happened. Yeah, for months while she was lying to my face on why she was distant.

Then he left for another state and she came back to me, and cheated on him with me...twice. When the deed was done, she wanted to know if I was better in bed than a friend of mine. Weird shit.

After a few fights, she issues harrasment charges on me and I was ordered to stay away. The rest was just fucking gravy.

Months later I am invited to a friend's house to help clean her place and help console her after she got dumped. I agreed. Turned out she was crying over a married man she had a three year affair with who dumped her to go back to his wife. I, like a good friend, help her out with her house in exchange for food and a place to sleep. But she asked my advice...i was 23...her 51...on what she should do to get rid of him. I told her to block him. She said she didnt know how. She constantly gets drunk, bitches about how men are pigs, and in a flight of stupidity, she goes to the man's house and publicly embarrasses herself. I tell her I have to go back home, and she coaxes me into staying a week...over and over again. She brought her married friend over and she actively tried to sleep with me. I finally stand up to her and tell her im going home to take care of some business. She gets enraged, calls me a loser and says I'm not a true friend. This only makes me walk out faster. She ends up saying to me she needs some time to herself and blocks me from facebook. I helped her out and that's the thanks I get. This year she unblocks me and says she needed that time to clear her head. I gave her a chance but quickly realized I was no longer remotely interested in what she had to offer. I reminded her that since she put me on hiatus, im putting her on hiatus. She tried to shame me, calling me a pathetic pig who will be lonely forever. Didn't work. Still blocked her. I remember looking back on her old photos, at her young age, she was stunning. A dead ringer for Molly Ringwald. Now she's old...alone, and with 3 failed marriages and 7 failed relationships, and now i understand why. Tidbit, she was a hippie type, but the guy she was in an affair with? A very well off Indian professor with a boatload of money. That wasn't the death knell though.

Then, I tried online dating. So many fat chicks, but I didnt mind fat chicks. I hooked up a couple of times but either the sex was terrible or the women were. All of the women, with the exception of one married woman was absolutely boring both conversationally and sexually. They were unbearably picky. I got into some major messes with a couple of them. One who didnt want to fuck me tried to hook me up with her gay friend. I refused and her dumb ass tried calling rape on me to the whole neighborhood. Chick was bonkers and in love with a heavily abusive ex boyfriend.

To be precise, most of those online dates had boyfriends, fiances, or husbands...I usually found out after the act.

But the death knell? This June. I hitched 100 miles to go meet a date and work for her family. They were your typical backwoods family. She believed in waiting for sex, and I didnt mind as long as she treated me right. Not only did I find out she's easily given it up to other guys before, but that she had 4 other guys on tap while I was seeing her. She was lazy, entitled, stupid as hell, and delusional. She wanted a tall, well off guy when all she ever did was sit on her ass, watch netflix, and eat and eat and eat. She tried to sell me out to her family by saying I was an escaped convict. Which is a lie.

That incident, not to mention my sister leaving me stranded in another state, is what made me finally say "Fuck this shit, I'm out."

Then I did research after seeing a sandman video and found there were many others who went through the same thing.I came to realize that bitches truly be crazy, and it wasn't my fault at all.

It was like a huge burden was lifted from my conscious. At the same time, a sadness overtook me. Love was dead to me, and for me, love was a huge driving force behind my life.

I grew up in a family with let's just say more than 4 sisters. I've never been in a relationship myself, but I've watched the ones my sisters have been in. My sisters all did the whole sleep around with a dozen guys thing and then they cry about how no one marries them. I watched one sister dump a really nice guy because, in her words, "he was too nice". That sister is now married to a guy who once choked her into unconsciousness. At a family reunion a few years back I overheard a conversation a few of my sisters had about how many times they cheated on their SOs. So MGTOW has pretty much been my default position.

There were several things. But the one that got me to wake up was alimony. In my state, if you fall behind on alimony payments, the government throws you in jail. Here is an example . . .

Suppose you suffer some financial problem that causes you to be unable to pay. You fall behind. The courts then throw you jail for several months. Since you are gone for months, needless to say, you lose your job. While you are in jail, the alimony does not go away. It only accumulates. So when you get out now you owe 6 months of alimony and no job. So then you get stuck in the system when you are in and out of prison.

They say, "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." Since I don't want to end up in prison, an easy way to stay out of jail is to never owe a woman alimony.

TL;DR - I've always been MGTOW, but didn't know the name for the philosophy until reading "The Sexodus".

Even when I was young, I knew I never wanted to get married and never wanted to have children. I followed the news from an early age and I was well-aware of both the frequency of divorce and how slanted divorce and child custody/support laws were against men. It just didn't seem worth the risk. When I was a teenager, I was interested in at least sex and relationships with women, although I was beta as fuck at the time, so I had zero success. During my first year of college I let myself orbit some girl and got a good lesson in how the whole 'nice guy' thing doesn't work. After that, I just lost interest. I was focused on finishing my B.Sc., applying for a student visa and getting into a US grad school; I didn't have the time or energy to devote to chasing women. And as the years went on, even when I started to have a little more time in the early years of grad school, I realized I just didn't care to start trying with women. I liked living on my own, I liked having my free time available to do whatever I pleased, I liked being able to spend or save my disposable income however I wanted, etc. It's a feeling of amazing freedom being able to live without always having someone expecting your time, money and attention, without being expected to spend your whole life bending to someone else's wishes.

About mid-way through grad school, I decided that I should give relationships another shot - if for no other reason than because I was 26 and still (a) hadn't ever been in a real relationship and (b) hadn't ever gotten laid. Turns out I didn't like either of those things. The woman I ended up seeing was your typical OKCupid feminist teacher "BBW" with issues...but then my self-confidence was in the crapper (and I was still buying into the "choose someone based on personality and not looks" BS), so I figured that was the best I could do. It was terrible. Not that she was a complete train-wreck, but I just didn't like the imposition on my life. My time wasn't entirely my own any more, because I had to make time for her. My money wasn't my own, since I was spending it on dates. My space wasn't my own, since I had someone around frequently. As for sex, when I lost my virginity, my exact thought was "that's it?" It was objectively good, I suppose - not 'starfish position' or whatever - but I didn't think it was appreciably better than just whackin' it. Everyone makes such a big deal about sex - many men are willing to trade their money, families, careers and even lives for it - but it just didn't live up to the hype for me. It wasn't worth it. After than relationship thankfully ended, I went back to not bothering with women again and my life was so much better. I finally started working on improving my physical fitness, got my finances in order and started saving like a boss, started writing and investing time in some of my other hobbies, etc. It was great; I was living the MGTOW lifestyle, even though I was unaware of the movement itself.

What turned me on to the whole MGTOW philosophy was Milo Yiannaopolous' "Sexodus" article. I remember reading that and thinking 'holy shit, that's me!'. I started reading some of the sites he referenced and linked to, as well as checking out The Red Pill and a few associated philosophies. I even tried out some Red Pill stuff and gave dating another try, but dealing with women was still a nuisance and trying to simultaneously be 'alpha' all the time wasn't worth the trouble. The articles posted on TRP and here have been very useful in convincing me further that women aren't worth my time and effort, so that's why I still hang around both communities some.

I'm Chinese and I was raised by a single, narcissistic, abusive, tiger mom for nearly 15 years. She was so bad that my dad had custody of me when they divorced (a man gets custody in a divorce...think about how bad my mom was for that to happen). My dad has a permanent bite mark on his shoulder where she bit him. Then my mom brought me to Toronto.

When I came to Toronto with my mom I discovered the wonders of peanut butter, cheese, sugary cereal, and ketchup chips (we had none of these things in China in the early '90s). I ate myself into obesity. Girls treated me like crap. Now I understand why, but as a little kid I thought that they'd like me if I were just nice to them. Oh the naivety.

Fast forward to college I wasn't fat anymore. I became fit and muscular. I was overall pretty happy with myself. In high school I swore myself off girls for life, but now that I look better I convinced myself to give it a second thought.

Enter this girl. She was absolutely gorgeous, 11/10, half Polish, half Dutch. She wasn't an entitled brat and from a small town with parents still married so I figured she'd have some decent values.

I ask her out. She says yes. We go out for a month and she invites me over to her parents' place. Now I said she's from a small town. I bused as far as I could and she drove me the rest of the way.

While we're at her place she comes on to me. We make out for a bit but it never escalated to sex since I wanted to be respectful to her parents. This girl was hot and I didn't want to fuck it up.

Turns out being too nice was me fucking it up. Her parents liked me but she quit talking to me for the rest of the weekend. We went to my friend's party where the silent treatment continued. I got drunk and got mad at her for it.

I was so pissed. A month of being a perfect gentleman. I tried to be respectful to her parents by not fucking their daughter just for her to blow it up in my face.

I dated another girl after. She was nice and pretty, but I didn't feel it. The whole time I felt like I just wanted to go on my own and do stuff. So I broke up with her.

I was sick of my mom's nasty, abusive, narcissism. I hated how I was treated as a fat kid in high school. I don't have the energy to play dodge the emotional landmine game with girls I date. It's like I just lost interest in girls and dating - and I'm okay with that.

I married the first girl who showed interest in me back in high school. Turns out she cheated on me both in college and after college while I was at work. I learned how society is stacked against man and heard too many cautionary divorce tales where the women takes all. So I thought, what's the bother putting in all this effort to be someone I'm not to attract women who will then lead to my ruin?

Oh and I was also dating a professional victim for a while I met in a depression support group. She told me her biological clock was ticking and after like 8 months of dating wanted to get married. She was also a bit of a psycho.

When I realized that female beauty (much, much more so than the male's) has real, tangible, monetary value and that they use this value to purchase men like objects.

Another huge issue I have with women is their inability to logically consider the motivators behind men's collective disdain. I know black people that will consider flaws in their cultures and communities, I know white people that are willing to take long hard looks at their possibly racist tendencies, but I have never met a woman willing to consider the ramifications of her actions or those of her peers; I have never met a woman willing to deeply investigate the reasons men are beginning to shun them in ever growing numbers.

They shame ("who hurt you?"), they resort to petty name calling ("you sound like a loooser stahp!"), they joke but they NEVER actually consider, with real mental effort, what men are dealing with today in regards to their intimate relationships with women.

A society that thrives financially from female hypergamy and male financial servitude to women combined with women's collective unwillingness to discuss the above-mentioned topics more or less tempts me to discard women socially and morally.

I've always been an outsider due to the fact that my family is German and I am an Army brat. German personalities come across as fairly abrasive to Americans, due to the no-bullshit attitude. The few friends that I did have, I would lose within 1-3 years. With that kind of a childhood I never really had a social life. As a result I never got indoctrinated into the whole dating culture. I was able to form my own opinions about women, and a lot of them coincided with MGTOW.

At 22, I got my first and last girlfriend. She was a little dramatic and illogical. Due to my personality, this prevented me from getting too attached. It was a turn-off. After a year of dating, she met a guy who she introduced to me. He was supposed to be a friend for me, as I didn't have many. Eventually she left me for him. Instead of telling me this, she blamed the breakup on me. I felt horrible initially. We had just moved to this new town, neither of us really knew anyone. When I asked her where she would go, she said she would sleep on her girlfriend's couch. How big of an asshole must I have been to make her want to be homeless? Later on I asked this girl if that was the case. It wasn't. She was staying with my "friend", who turned out to be a drug dealer, in his mother's house. Did I mention, I am a software engineer?

Immediately I was guilt free.

My ex and her drug dealer had started dating. She got hooked on snorting pharmaceutical pills. In the end she spent every single dollar on drugs. She literally did not have quarters to rub together. She went as far as to offer me sex in exchange for some cash.

I really wish I'd made that shit up. This is why I'm MGTOW.

I got cheated on after 3 years to this woman that I loved more than I loved myself, my family, or anything ever before. She traded up and left me in the dust. I poured my heart, money, and time into her and sacrificed so many aspects of my life in order to keep her happy.

At the end it was all for nothing--well, at least I found MGTOW through her. So maybe it was meant to be. I learned that the only woman who will ever unconditionally love me is my mother--every other woman is just there to use me out of convenience.

My ex and I broke up on pretty good terms. Essentially, I felt like I had to put up a facade just to "make her happy" which I guess she wasn't really happy. She also couldn't decide if she actually liked me for me or just as a replacement for her ex. I was getting really tired of her bitching about not spending enough time and I refused to play her petty games. Best thing that ever happened to me because I was really busy with my studies at the time.

However, that's not the point I became MGTOW. Having cared a lot about this girl, I was pretty devastated after the breakup. I told myself that if this is how it feels, I'm not so sure that I want to put myself thru that again. I took some time to get over the relationship almost 2 years or so until I was good.

Somehow, I came across the red pill. I thought it was pretty interesting and my eyes were opened about women's behavior. Everything made sense and I snapped out of my blue pill fantasy. Having acquired this knowledge, it was literally impossible for me to go back. However, something about the redpill rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not into partying, sex, and spinning plates like most of those guys are. I came to the conclusion that although they had come across the true behaviours of women, they were still putting pussy on a pedestal. At the time, I recall them referring to MGTOWs as "losers who probably couldn't get a girl". Which really just speaks to their pussy worship.

From there on out, I decided that TRP was not for me, but the info was valuable. I began observing the women in our society and came to the conclusion that it's really not worth it to me. I can achieve my dreams and be happy on my own. Why would I want to risk it by having a woman possibly ruin it for me? Then I found MGTOW after getting a reply to a post I made about coming to terms with being single from the rest of my life. I found that he had mentioned r/MGTOW in one of his comments.

So now, I'm MGTOW and will be for life. I keep my head down and just go about my life. I'm not interested in dating or pursuing any relationships. My only struggle currently is dealing with my attraction. I find some women quite attractive and there's even a girl that I met that had I been my blue pill self would have convinced myself to ask her out. I try to come to /r/MGTOW to constantly remind myself about why I've made this decision.

I normally keep to myself, am pretty quiet, work in a male-dominated field and have hobbies that are either solitary or typically male (sport, etc). Never been in a serious relationship, I was open to finding someone in my 20s but I realize I'm not what most girls are looking for and I'm not bringing a lot to the table either. I'm not going to try to saddle up with someone for the sake of appearances or expectations, and I haven't had any offers to regardless.

I wouldn't say I'm happy doing what I'm doing, but I'm fairly comfortable and have the freedom to do what I like. I like having my space and time away from people. Was never a conscious choice to be this way; felt like it was always on the cards and it just naturally happened over time.

Then I decided if I wasn't going to have kids, what I want to spend my money on? Not a car. Not a house, or land. Not stocks. Not conspicuous consumerism. My hobbies.

I guess a lot of guys probably wouldn't consider me MGTOW because I haven't sworn off women or work, just shitty women: I don't want some needy, childish housewife brat.

TL;DR: I've realized I can just jack off and get 60% of the pleasure with 2% of the work.

I've lost count of how many times I've been told that I'd be a great boyfriend or husband materal, "such a catch".

At first it made my day to hear that, maybe, I could finally get that loving relationship I'd always dreamed of.

Gradually though, I started to wonder. If all of these women say I'd be so great as a boyfriend/etc, why am I still single? Sure I'm not great at flirting but I do have a social circle, go out on dates and second/third dates, I even tried online dating for a while. Still nothing.

Now I'm done with putting in all of this work and expending a ton of emotional capital. All of that while still being told by women that I'm doing the right things, yet still getting nothing out of it. I went a bit RP for a while and had much more success, but I got tired of putting on an act. The general vilification of male sexuality overlays all of this and makes a difficult situation a dangerous one.

So with all of that, I'm done chasing and searching. I still dream of finding a unicorn, but I don't plan on it. I do plan on living a life of value and the pursuit of my own interests, and I'm becoming ok with that.

Pretty much everything. I've barely seen a thing in life which was honest and / or fair. So long as I see a lunch counter lined with shit sandwiches but an exit and I can just use it, I'm out.
