This is a question meant to stimulate discussion of sex and gender issues, specifically those pertaining to /r/TheBluePill and /r/TheRedPill.

TRP explicitly addresses this issue. So far as I know, BP/feminists do not. If I'm wrong, let me know.

One double standard some people complain about revolves around women's expectations when it comes to emotional vulnerability.

Specifically, women expect to be able to lean on their man if they're feeling vulnerable, upset or otherwise need emotional support.

As an example, in a post on another sub, a woman said she had an "unexpected panic attack while talking with [her partner] at around 3am" She went on to say her she worried her mental health issues "must be a burden to him" even though "he's never insinuated that".

The post got many comments and many upvotes. No one commented that she was being unreasonable, that she was an emotional cripple, or that it was unfair to burden her boyfriend with her emotional problems.

On the other hand, when another woman complained that her partner "does not regulate his emotions well," because "he becomes quiet and withdrawn" when he's upset, the commenters said, among other things, that "it seems like he has zero redeeming features, and that he was "emotionally still a child."

I realized, of course, that a sample of two proves nothing. These are just examples.

But I'm asking the question anyway: do women have different standards when it comes to emotional support and mental illnesses when it comes to men vs. women?

Specifically, do women expect men to have all their shit together before getting into a relationship; while also expecting men to be there for women, regardless of what emotional baggage or mental or emotional problems they bring to the relationship?

I know what TRP says which is why I'm asking BP/feminists, if there are any here.
