I really had to rethink male friendships and subsequently drop them after discussing what constituted rape. I was super disgusted to know that some men think it's appropriate to do accidental anal or have sex with someone while sleeping. NOT ok. I never viewed these men the same again.

I'm done with this rape culture and porn is making it worse.

The surveys did not include the actual words such as "rape" or "sexual assault." Instead, researchers would describe scenarios/behaviors or show vignettes.

It disturbs me how many men don't see anything wrong with having sex with someone who is unconscious, or encouraging a woman to get really drunk or high to "loosen her up," or coercing their wife/girlfriend into unwanted sex.

I’ve had a date try to rape me because he spent money on a lunch date. He followed me in my apartment because I was putting my left overs in my fridge and we were going to go get ice cream next. He tried to rape me. When I said no, he said I owed him money for wasting his time. He said I had to pay for the food and car gas money or I had to have sex with him. He was in law school. Irony. I was shaking and quiet as he tried to put his hand down my pants. I gave him money and he left. That’s so horrible but sometimes I wonder what would have happened if he didn’t leave. Me agreeing to a first date does not mean I owe sex. My agreeing to 100 dates does not mean I owe sex. Neither does marriage. And to make me pay money in order to not be raped because he only took me out with the assumption of sex (apparently, we never discussed it) is evil. So evil. Imagine if I didn’t have money. I am forever afraid of giving my number, letting a guy drive me in his car, or even letting a guy see my car in a parking lot if we met at a restaurant. I’m so scared.

Mine was "The creep" - I'd already said no, but it's like if he thought he kept trying I'd give in? I managed to push him away so many times but he just kept reaching back. (Right back to where he didnt have consent) I'll never understand it. How does having to force someone even make you feel like you're desirable?

I was answering a question and young woman asked if she was raped when she went over a guy's house and she told him about a past trauma and he used it to manipulate her and ask for sex. She said no repeatedly and then the final time said yes to just get it over with.

This guy answered that she wasn't raped because she said yes eventually and I told him that multiple no's with a then a forced yes does not mean a real yes. He had the nerve to tell me I was brainwashed (he actually said I was drinking the "Kool aid") and that yes the guy was shitty but eventually got a yes so it wasn't rape and it was therefore consent.

I haven't responded yet I'm debating whether I should again since he's a male excusing idiot and I don't want to waste my time or energy since I already said what I needed. I'll post the link and maybe my new response if I want to respond a final time.

I've experienced several of these situations multiple times with different people. It's incredibly terrifying when you clearly say no and a man who is considerably stronger than you doesn't stop. You have no power. Bringing rape charges to a man is not some fun times party. Your whole life is scrutinized. It's incredibly invasive.
