Open relationship my ass. She was second fiddle. Recently found out my ex did the same to me- he was dating someone else while we were together but claimed we had an open relationship and we're supposed to be honest about all that. open relationships always make me gag or laugh hysterically.

i laugh very hard when they OBVIOUSLY go up in flames or one or both parties get insecure and start to resent their CHEATING partner. just break up if you want to sleep around. open relationships are NOT and will not be relationships.

(ive been debating leaving r/relationship_advice for that reason. so many people talking about their fake relationships and whining abou how upset their decision has made them)

there is a FDS post somewhere about how a man makes a woman believe she "got to choose" between two alternatives when in fact she did exactly what he wanted. that's pretty much the case. they didn't negotiate shit. he convinced her to be his side chick and she deluded herself on making it more something more in future, until reality kicked in. now she needs to believe she got the upper hand because she'll be the one to be shocked once she realized the role she played in the history.

I can’t personally see most people in open relationships, but if you’re gonna to do it, it needs to be done enthusiastically and with strict rules, not a compromise to keep one half of the relationship happy
