EDIT 2: BLOCKED.

I have been practising the 'mess me around once and you're blocked' technique and so far so good.

I just wanted to know everyone's opinion on whether you should also block a man if he cancels on the same day of a date because of work reasons?

Obviously I understand that it is based on the situation, so in my case:

- We have only messaged via text so far.

- He explicitly stated it was a date, invited me several days before, set time/place/activity.

- He has a job that is Mon-Fri but sometimes situations mean he has to work overtime (he works in manufacturing).

- He cancelled approx 4 hours before.

- He apologised and expressed a wish to reschedule but didn't offer an alternative date.

I haven't replied yet (I always wait for a bit when I am in my feelings) but I'm interested in the result. What would you ladies do?

EDIT: Still haven't messaged/seen results of the poll but just wanted to write a summary from the comments. Shout out to u/Summerisle7 and u/painmakesyoustronger in particular.

In conclusion, cancelling for work is still not a good enough reason to cancel - especially if they don't immediately reschedule.

It shows they are not in control of their schedule and would be a nightmare to date.

Work becomes the go-to excuse.

Don’t give him a chance to continually let you down, and feel anxiety before every date because you’re not sure if he’ll even show up.
