I have been dating this guy for a few weeks, with the intention of hopefully developing a ltr with him. However I had recently been having doubts about his intentions. So I brought this up with him, and basically said that we shouldn't see each other anymore because I believe we want different things. Me wanting a relationship, and his words leading me to believe he wants a fwb.

His response was that he'll do anything if I give him a second chance. He also said that he does want a relationship too and that we should meet this weekend to talk about it.

I agreed, so I have planned a date for us to do this weekend when he drives down to see me.

I really like this guy... Like A LOT, and it took a lot for me to work up the courage to tell him we should stop seeing each other for that reason. I feel myself trying to control the situation so that I get the outcome that I want, which is to have a ltr with this guy. At this stage where it's too early to establish exclusivity and we're still kind of in the courting phase, I'm unsure of what my actions should be. Like what should I be focused on? I'm pretty sure what I SHOULDN'T be doing is waiting around to recieve texts from him and feeling like a giddy idiot when I do hear from him, which is exactly what I AM doing 😬

How do I step back from this.. Be less full on, less desperate acting, and act more like a woman who is potential gf material?

We are long distance by the way, so that is an extra layer of difficulty, because I am naturally a person who needs the physical presence of my partner to feel reassured about our status. Which in turn makes me act even more desperate 😑
