He doesn't want your thoughts. He wants your attention. He wants to get to you. He wants to know that he still matters to you, despite you never mattering to him. That's why he's talking like there was a relationship when he obviously knows there wasn't because he's the one who kept it that way. So that his message will pack that much more of an emotional punch.

They're not dumb as such. They just see you as .. not a human. You're like a book he was reading, it got boring or he didn't like the story so he put it down.

Then he had some similar problem in his life and remembered that this book he was reading might have answers so he picked the book up to get info.

Don't project your definition of "relationship" onto him. He may well have thought you were in a relationship, he clearly has no theory of mind and isn't able to imagine that you didn't believe as HE does. Everything was fine for him.

He thinks the problem he's having is that he keeps picking up books with boring stories, so instead of looking at himself like a normal person capable of introspection, he's expecting you to help him out. Cos books exist for that.

That’s ridiculous...I had a guy friend who I blocked and delete recently because he ignored my calls and texts for months and thought that calling me only when he felt like it and never when I wanted too was totally ok. He then proceeded to text my best friend asking why I had blocked him!!!! I was so shocked he had even noticed because he never cared to text or message me back before so why the sudden change of heart?!? I didn’t care what he had to say for himself and now I feel so much better that I’m not agonising over someone who didn’t care about me in the first place

My take on this message is that he is not the slightest bit interested in your thoughts, nor does he want any advice about other women.

He wants to either neg you by reminding you of how in his eyes you were the “needier” one in the relationship OR he is implying that you are “cooler” than his new relationship(s) and wishes he could bang you again.
