I tried "walking away" from a guy once and announced my departure. I learned immeadiately that they will ask "Why?" or to get an explanation from you. This is to keep you on the hook, not because they want to learn what they did wrong and want to do better. They will say anything to keep you from walking away. They will argue about your reasons. They will ask for another chance. They will say that your explanation for walking away is actually a "you" problem and you are projecting. ANYTHING! Don't listen and follow through with walking away and no contact.
