Rule 12: Angry women are crazy. Angry men have trouble expressing themselves.

My boss branded me a crazy for expressing anger/ irritation with mismanagement and a years long disparity in my promotion time v others. Years worth of bullshit and I needed to remain silent on it to be sane or else he would whisper about it and make sly insinuations to others over my head until my mental health was being whispered and winked about openly in the space

Meanwhile, he could lose his shit and act RAGINGLY angry, completely fucking crazy over shit that were mere matters of preference- me not putting a signature line on a letter where he thought it should go, or not booking a hotel for an event 6 months out the day I found out about it because I had other more pressing work.

I mean gritting his teeth, balling up his fists, yelling, bombarding me with calls.

I wish I’d turned it around on him and questioned HIS mental health and emotional stability. It’s what he deserved.

Instead he started openly doing it to me in ugly whispers that were obviously meant for me to see- all because my expressing anger at past management while working for him hurt his fragile little ego and he felt made it look like I wasn’t happy with him. So I had to be punished and humiliated into submission. It was being used to control and humiliate me publicly into shutting up and never voicing an inequality or concern

It was a prime example of that rule of misogyny. My anger over several years of on and off bullshit and mismanagement was invalid or cRaZy. His raging flip outs over me not booking him a 1st class seat for a 1 hr flight were justified.

If I had it to do again I’d be sure to question his mental health and over emotionalness openly to stigmatize and humiliate him with it, which he deserved because it was fucking asshole behavior. At the time I quietly tried to give him what he wanted and didn’t even mention it openly to anyone else. As soon as the tables were reversed and I needed to voice a very valid complaint which he regarded as negative or injuring to his ego he made sure to openly humiliate me as a crazy and raise questions about my mental health based on my rightful anger at unfair treatment but his absurd neurotic flip outs got a pass as sane. From now on any person who uses the crazy card on me is getting it uno reversed

My ex called me crazy all the time. But he was the one getting angry multiple times a day. I eventually started ensuring I stayed completely calm while “discussing” issues with him and he just would accuse me of doing it on purpose to manipulate him into being angry. So if I was emotional I was crazy and if I wasn’t then I was manipulative. Men are experts at creating situations where they can force one of two reactions and have it prepared for whichever one you do to use as evidence of what they’re saying about you. I feel like they must all have secret lessons in school to learn how to do this.

Rule number 11 is my number one. It's kind of my pet peeve since I see a lot of victims of abuse at work and most of the time the abuser is a man. But way too often when I am just casually telling someone: "Oh, I had such a bad case of domestic abuse today, she looked so bad, I hope he won't attack her again" there are always people telling me that men get abused too and it's way worse for them since they have no one to turn to and the police will just laugh at them, etc. Gah. Yes, men get abused too. But I have known at least 3 women that were killed by their abusing husbands and not a single abusing wife who killed anyone.
