I would like to start by thanking you all for opening my eyes on the topic of circumcision. My family is Jewish and I had always assumed that when I had children, they would be circumcised, but after seeing the post on here from a few days ago with the young boy who climbed a roof to escape his circumcision, my eyes were truly opened. I spoke with my wife (who comes from a pretty religious Jewish family) and we decided that when we have children, we will not circumcise them. I still don't believe that circumcision is the worst thing ever, but the thought that my parents could have removed any part of my body without my consent because "it looks better that way" is sickening to me. I expect my family and my in-laws to object to this decision, but I feel well-educated and prepared enough to confront their points with logic. If anyone has any additional arguments to support my viewpoint, I would love to have a bit more ammunition when I let my parents know!
