He has not been imprisoned for "sexting". He has been imprisoned for "transferring obscene material to a minor".

So the obscenity charges are a lie. And socially the phrasing admits she's a young lady, not a child.

Weiner does not belong in jail. Especially for nothing more sexual than exhibitionist female stars expose daily to the entire planet (including to children).

I just looked at this post after seeing that a white female young lady who was training to be a doctor got no jail time for stabbing her boyfriend.

You are right. The whole thing is ridiculous. He was specifically targeted for this, too. No harm came to anybody, and indeed what happened was exactly what the "victim" wanted to happen. Of course, we're not allowed to know her name, even though she may be part of the reason Trump is president. The Comey announcement was one thing, but I remember the Weiner connection had a big impact as well.

Nobody should ever go to prison for speech (which includes text and video) no matter the content of the speech.

The First Amendment needs to be updated to make clear that the freedom of speech isn't limited only to certain kinds of speech, certain speakers, or certain audiences.
