This is my opinion:

Don't. I don't mean don't date a feminist. Don't date someone from your university.

If you do, you are putting yourself in a position where she gets to decide whether you graduate (ever). This is true, and will remain true for each woman you date (and some you don't ever date). They have control over that part of your life, and you can't get that control back until after graduation.

You're looking for someone who hasn't bought into victimhood culture, so look for courses which demand rational thinking and self reliance to succeed.

But as for filtering feminists out: if they say "I'm for equality", probe for details about what form of equality. If they won't even consider things like non-combat military draft for women, financial abortions, etc. then get out of there.

In my opinion women who, when pressed, will actually consider these things are not feminists. They simply call themselves feminists because "I'm for equality" sounds good and haven't actually thought through the implications of true equality. They can be reasoned with.

I would more look at the character of the person. Labels are worthless.

Most women self-identity as feminists because they want equality. Very few women I know or have known, for example, will say extreme feminist bullshit like, "all sex is rape."

If you want to try to figure out whether she's really fair minded, say you have a friend whose girlfriend lied about being on birth control because she wants a kid. Tell her he's excluded from the kid's life but still makes child support payments. If she's appalled, she's fair minded. If her attitude is about "tough shit", she's brainwashed.

Individuals are individuals. There are feminists who are for equality and just haven't broadened their worldview yet, there are feminists like Christina Hoff Sommers who have broadened their worldview but stick to the label like glue, and there are feminists who refuse to broaden their worldview and figure out ways men are institutionally harmed by the system.

You should avoid the last ones. The first two are ok.

date whoever you want to date. just communicate with them, be honest with them, and ask them to communicate and be honest with you. women are perfectly capable of having partners with different political ideologies. there's no reason to write off a large population of potential partners (i.e., women who identify as feminists) just because of a particular label.

Just say "Trump" for no reason when in a conversation and if they immediately go batshit insane and freak out on you you'll know you've got a crazy one, guarantee you it will work.

I know it sucks and we shouldn't have to do this, but I suggest cutting to the chase and bringing politics into it will help you discern how tolerant a girl really is or anyone for that matter. If they just rationally say they don't like Trump and so on then it should all be fine but if they just flip out then walk away and fast.

I don't even like Trump's policies a huge amount but it's remarkable seeing people I had otherwise respected or thought of as intelligent turn into complete morons when discussing him. It's a really good way for sniffing out the crazy, intelligent and rational people can feel uncomfortable and angry without being violent or taking it out on other people next to them unfairly.

By the way, know exactly what you mean with Christina Hoff Sommers, if I could get a girl that rational it would be amazing lol.

Christina Hoff Sommers has nothing in common with any feminist girl.

If today a girl wants to label herself a feminist, she has something wrong. That's because she uses that label, so she cares about it, then she's probably informed at least a bit, and yet she wants to use it. Maybe she will change her mind, but there's something who didn't work from the start and that's a red flag.

As I always say I go to a leftist university where the feminist propaganda is insane, an I'm an anti-feminist. I'm not the only one, so anti-feminist girls exist in feminist universities. And an anti-feminist girl always prefers to date an anti-feminist guy, and anti-feminist guys are not a lot, believe me, so why should you think about what should you consider just ok? Don't settle for less than you deserve.

AHAHAHAHAHA! The levels of paranoia around here are fucking ridiculous. The vast majority of women at any university are going to be feminists, but they're not going to be the feminist SJW boogeyman this sub tries to make them all out to be. That's honestly maybe 5-10% of them. As long as you don't go rabid "I hate feminists, men are oppressed by their evil agenda" on them, most are pretty open to debate.

Best bet is to just follow the general rules for safe college relationships:

1) Don't fuck drunk chicks. Period. If she's had anything to drink, stay in public and don't get handsy. Better safe than sorry.

2) Don't fuck anyone you don't know well. This will help prevent sticking your dick in crazy.

Stick with those and you'll be fine.

Dating a feminist can work. I have been dating one for 5 years now and we get along great. I simply don't talk about gender politics. If she starts going on about it I just listen and nod. The important part is that we both treat each other as equals.

Many young Feminists support the ideology because they are young and just adopted the mainstream ideas and haven't seen much real life and thought through things. But dating one increases the risk of something unfair and sexist happening to you.

The question is how do you tell the crazy and hostile Feminists from the more moderate ones. Over time you can, of course, but then something ugly might have happened already. A girl, who felt nice and reasonable, can all of a sudden decide, for example, that you assaulted or raped her and destroy your life. Or she can decide you're a sexist pig because you can't behave exactly the way she things men should behave and then spoil your reputation among other students.

Find a girl in STEM.

Right now colleges are mostly populated by women and those women largely major in the humanities or soft "sciences". An English major was attracted to a field that centers on interpreting and deriving feeling from text. In other words, for them often the important part of something isn't what is done or said, but how it makes them feel.

An engineer or scientist, on the other hand is, by nature of their field and the traits that drew them to it, much more grounded. Feelings are secondary to facts because nobody cares how that material analysis made you feel.

When you throw the nebulous concept of feminism on the mix, the choice is pretty clear.

But that may be too glib for some.

No matter how feminist a woman claims to be, if she is in the car with you, and the car breaks-down and rolls to a stop on the side of the road, she will look at you and say: "Well? Get out there and fix it!" rather than roll-up her sleeves and attempt to help.

Feminism is a shit test. I just matched with one on an online dating website. Once you break through the feminist front they are putting up, they are basically the dirtiest sluts in existence. I went from telling her that women are the most privileged group to ever walk the earth at the present time, to talking about how she wants me to choke her, slap her, and fuck her in the ass. So, take the feminist label with a grain of salt. Most women don't even believe in it themselves. Hell, the girl admitted that she likes assholes and is attracted to me simply because I basically ignore her feminist ideas.
