Lets play the swapped gender game.

With how feminists paint society as a horrible rape culture, they clearly believe that reverse happens every day.

Gaubert was convicted on one count of criminal mischief earlier this year following a one-day trial at the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court where she faced charges of filing false public statements, a felony. Judge Arthur Hunter found Gaubert guilty of the lesser charge - a misdemeanor - and sentenced her to one day of probation. [My emphasis]

Probably not just a case of pussy-pass but rather the legal system looking after their own, seeing as she is an attorney. Mind you, I have no idea what comparable sentences have been handed out to male attorneys, would need to research that one.

[–]MonkeyCB 36 points37 points38 points 10 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

There was a judge, a fucking judge, who recorded his girlfriend jumping out of his car (while moving) in order to claim abuse. Dude was arrested and it took some time to go through evidence (including his recordings and the footage from the building he lived in).

Although we see a lot of stories of people "protecting their own", I don't think that's the case the vast majority of the time.

[–]double-happiness 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

You may be right. Whatever the 'rationale', a single day of probation is about the most tokenistic sentence it's possible to conceive of.

(BTW, this is the case you mention, I have heard of it before).

*;

[–]double-happiness -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Is that meant to be a correction of my punctuation? How do you figure?

[–]Nulono 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Because "this is the case you mention" and "I've heard of it before" are independent clauses.

[–]double-happiness -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Right, I see. TBH, it would have helped if you'd indicated which part of my comment you were correcting, I really wasn't sure. Got you now, anyway. Cheers.

[–]Nulono 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

*correcting;

[–]double-happiness -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

AFAIK 'I really wasn't sure' is not an independent clause, since it doesn't state what it was that I wasn't sure of.

[–]Nulono 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It doesn't have to. "I ran" is an independent clause even though it doesn't specify where you're running to.

[–]bluewit -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A semicolon can often replace a period or comma when two linked statements are presented as a single sentence or as or two separate sentences:

You may be right; whatever the 'rationale', a single day of probation is about the most tokenistic sentence it's possible to conceive of. (BTW, this is the case you mention; I have heard of it before).

(Just my interpretation, IANAenglishteacher; I do enjoy semicolons tho.)

[–]double-happiness -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure my comment is fine as it is.

[–]bluewit -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree, but figured there would be no harm to explaining what that person may have intended if it were a matter of suggested punctuation; clearly I shouldn't have interjected, & deserved a downvote.

[–]aberighty 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm waiting for the female dictator to rise up somewhere to shut up these people defending the pussy-pass.

[–]evolve19 14 points15 points16 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably not just a case of pussy-pass but rather the legal system looking after their own, seeing as she is an attorney.

As an attorney, I can almost guarantee this is not the case. Lawyers DO NOT look out for other lawyers like this, if ever. And certainly judges don't either. It's because assholes like her make our jobs more difficult. But beyond that, she is a headline. The tougher the sentence she receives, the more credit a young district attorney is going to get.

[–]Huitzil37 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I doubt it.

Cops look after their own, because the ones they have to rely on are other cops, and their opponents are not cops.

The opponents of attorneys are other attorneys.

[–]aberighty 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Still, there are some shitty attorneys and activist judges. Pussy-pass may be okay until the first strong attorney sues them for what its worth. This is why something asinine like the "Black Lives Matter" movement gets a pass, because few have the balls to confront it in court. Good luck to the taxi driver and hope that this disgusting human being also gets dragged into the suit for ever considering abusing her pussy-pass.

Not all men want to fuck all women at any given time of day. As much as I want to have sex all day any time, as a man who is like that, I STILL find some women sexually unappealing and would turn them down for offering it, as I have done in the past.

[–]KamiNekoSama 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What's wrong with you? Are you gay? I bet you have a small penis that's what it is.

Bet that sounded more than a little familiar then? Or at least that is what follows when i have turned women away.

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ironically, I haven't always turned down those I wasn't sexually into. Once I was already naked with two girls in a shower, and the other guy and other girl left, and it was obvious this one was looking for sex so I went ahead and did it because it felt like the right thing to do, even though I wasn't attracted to her. Felt more polite than just walking off after she put herself out there. I was ambivalent to my own desires, or I felt like putting out was better than repercussions of not doing it, yet I don't feel sexually assaulted or harassed, as many women who've done the same for the same reasons claim to be.

[–]bluewit 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the argument is typically that when alone with a male the potential "danger" exists of "harm" (or more often of social consequences) should they "try to" reject his advances- as though such concerns were on the same level as being alone out in the middle of the ocean with Dennis in that episode of Always Sunny where the gang buys a boat:

"she would never say no... because of the IMPLICATION"

--pretty much to say the argument usually becomes "yeah but she was scared if she said no he would hurt her & then he'd do it anyway & there would be no way to stop him so may as well go along, but technically that's like she felt forced if she sees it that way--after all, even if she had said no it would be her word against his, and who would believe her if he had then forced her without either of them hurting the other, and if she tried to hurt him to leave a mark she could have been hurt way bad; so the safest move for her would be to go along with it to stay safe & press charges after he thinks he got away with it" in cases of

putting out was better than repercussions of not doing it

being said by one with a vagina about sex with someone sporting a penis.

[–]unbelievablepeople 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sheesh. Even that article, written after all the facts were known, calls it a "steamy video encounter." What the hell? There's a word for it when you make sexual contact with someone who is begging you to stop, and that word is not "steamy encounter."

[–]JoshtheAspie14 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So, tell me again about that "thin blue line" and why I should care about two groups that want to do me harm killing each-other?

[–]SilencingNarrative 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

We should start a change.org petition to have her disbarred. She has no business practicing law when she was caught sexually assaulting someone.

[–]bennejam000 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She has no business practicing law if she can't abide within the law. If she's going openly abuse the system to ruin lives, that's reason to disbar her right there.

Defamation is just civil though, he should sue her for any lost wages and other damages his lawyer can find. And she's a lawyer herself, has deeper pockets than some, and he's got a nice paper trail.

I'm glad to see some rational thought on Tumblr

[–]Ricwulf 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

It's because it's Mr Cappadocia. He's a part of the Anti-SJW crowd, and there are plenty in that crowd that are worth following, as their posts are often very well written and resourced.

Edit: If people are interested, I'd be willing to do a weekly post (if possible) to post something similar as this here from Cap or any other of the good Anti-SJW guys out there who post really good information. Seeing how I follow them, it wouldn't be too hard.

[–]Real_Pokemon 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Please do

[–]Ricwulf 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'll give it a shot this weekend. See how well received it is.

[–]Durgals 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This here. If tumblr can be rational, then there really is hope.

[–]Elvick 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's rational thought pretty much everywhere [that isn't ban happy of course]. You just have to be willing to see it.

Honestly the only feminist stuff I ever saw on tumblr was anti-feminist related. Wasn't until I came here that I really saw all the feminist crazies.

[–]SigmundFloyd76 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've read all the comments so far and nobody yet has bothered to say thank fuck he had that recording.

Probably a relatively unpopular opinion here, but Female rights are important,

Yeah... you don't know much about this place.

[–]evengraves 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I agree for equal rights for everyone, but that's not what feminism is no matter how much they act like it is. Feminism acts like they fight for men, but in reality all they do is tear us down and try to take away any places that men can discuss problems.

[+][deleted] 10 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]evengraves 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'd have no problem with that if they at least attempted to be honest. But if you ask a feminist, they fight for men and if you aren't a feminist, you're a bigot. There is no inbetween and if you disagree with them they will drown you in thought terminating cliches.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There is no inbetween and if you disagree with them they will drown you in thought terminating cliches.

Been there, done that- can confirm.

[–]PoorProduct 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Any logical argument why you're not a feminist just seems to shortwire some of them. Hear me out:

I was out having drinks with a lady friend who I had previously known spent a lot of time in feminist circles and somehow the subject came up that I would refuse to call myself a feminist, but egalitarian isn't so far off. The look on her face was cartoonish. How could someone be for equal rights and not be a feminist? It's the definition of feminist!

But discuss 3rd wave feminist, their in-fighting, and any other countless reasons why "feminism" is a very unattractive title to men and their brain melts, and steam bursts from their ears.

"We'll just have to agree to disagree."

Yeah, ok.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

my problem is more that the "Feminist" movement, has become more of a "Supremacist" Movement where females demand more than males, and because 99% of males were brainwashed as children that women are these fragile creatures that need protecting, and need to be cherished over all other things, we are predisposed to not fighting back against them, and fall into a guilty mindset, much like a "well maybe it is my fault" mentality.

Examples of what i mean: most newly employed females make just as much, or more than their male counterparts now, for fear of being sued for not giving them equal wages.

Even better yet: Gender quota caps. Male applicants are being passed up for lesser qualified female applicants because these companies are terrified of unclesam stepping in and fining them for having too small a % of female associates and not being able to prove that they made every effort to diversify.

i could list five million instances where we are now in an inferior position in society. Personally i'm sick and tired of being looked at like im going to rape or murder someone because i have a penis and a dark demeanor.

i think that the only thing that would work, would to be to remove any defining titles from equality movements - I.E. remove the titles from Gay rights, Black rights, Female rights- and simply become one lump grouping of equality - its a fairly simple concept, everyone is equal, and nothing from their personal life, sex, or gender, or anything should ever impact that equality.

[–]SW9876 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The problem with your logic is that you define feminism as a movement for equal rights, which it is not.

[–]Pantsyr 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aside from the obvious disgust and disbelief I had reading this - my thoughts are with the cab driver. No one gives a shit about his mental state it seems... I mean he was just sexually assaulted blackmailed thrown in jail and defamed. Wonder how much victim support and counseling / damages he's received. I would warrant absolutely NONE... damn the patriarchy it fails yet another male /s

[–]mwobuddy 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Either both men and women get to grope another person that says "I dont want you to do that" and then has to stop, or both men and women who do this are criminals guilty of sexual assault. There's no "pass" for women.

[–]Bearded_Deity 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Had to search the video to see it. And its disgusting. And of course, we all know if a man was doing this to a woman. The book would get thrown at him, and he would be called a rapist across the country. He would get death threats, and people would be calling for his head. They would be using a guy doing this, as an example of how oppressed women are, and how easily they can be assaulted, or groped.

But THIS bitch does it....and dude gets charged? Arrested? And she walks away with a misdemeanor assault charge? If it was a guy, he'd be getting charged with attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.

God I hate our society sometimes.
