It is usually a good idea to wait until the divorce is over just so you have time to process what happened and to settle down your emotions.

With that said, it seems that in most cases the relationship is over when divorce proceedings started and especially so if she filed.

I would advise against it for several reasons:

1) if you are still legally married, your stbx can file discovery for you to produce all written messages between you and romantic interests which can be used against you in court, especially if you're dissolving due to her infidelity or if marital waste is an issue. Consult a lawyer about this

2) you need to rebuild your life to where you are a complete person separate of your relationships. You can find your own purpose and happiness without needing someone else. It would be likely that you start building your life around this new person which will crush you if you split up

3) you probably haven't recovered enough from your divorce to really be emotionally stable and able to trust which are both important foundations of a new relationship. It will also impact who you might choose to date. If you're in a rush, you can miss a lot of red flags

Take a year to yourself once the divorce is finalized

Much depends on the "atmosphere" of the divorce process. Some are enmeshed in a very turbulent struggle; thus, dating might just be an unnecessary distraction. Others might have a simple uncoupling and so dating is just a normal transition exercise.

Means different things to different guys Let me break it down with a example

Date V1= laugh , have fun, casual hang outs, meetup, grab a bite. Rough wild sex , no long term planning, no sleepovers, sex in back your car. Little to no discussion about your ex wife and your divorce

Date V2: romantic talks, I love you let's move in together, meet my parents , put my IKEA furniture together. Kill this spider. Sex in her house or your house, talking about how your ex is a bad person and how your divorce is going

Until you become the best you..DATE V1 is what you should be doing.

Dont build emotional connections based on your divorce scenario with another women. It is a recipe for disaster.

Half the single women out there aren’t even single. It goes against everything you thought you knew about women but they think it’s hot when you’ve got a few extra fish on the line.

I think it's more a matter of if anyone would want to date you while going through a divorce. In terms of if it's morally right, that's really up to you. As long as you aren't involving them in the divorce then I see nothing wrong with it.

I’d say if lawyers are cool with it then go out. The energy of women is amazing and I really enjoy them. If you set zero expectations and just do what feels natural and are honest you’ll find you’re probably more happy around them then sitting at home wondering what to do with your time. Get a coffee. Set a walk or hike. Dinner. Whatever. Just set no expectations else you’ll pine for something they’re not going to give you and you’re back to where you are with your ex but a new one. Have fun. Be a man. They’re obviously looking for something as well
