They all seem to flaunt their fake happiness. I was listening to this divorce lawyer being interviewed who was extremely insightful on a lot of topics. He was asked about social media and he said it's the ones who are always posting about how great their lives are and how happy they are that are usually the most unhappy. It's the people who don't post these things that are generally pretty happy. It seems to be women generally will flaunt how happy they claim they are during a separation and divorce. They want to put out an image that they're having hot girl summer and they're finally so free and happy. In reality they're dying on the inside, just starving for validation and attention.

Screw her. She hurt you. She ruined your family. She ruined your finances. She tried everything she could to wreck you as a person physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She's going to flaunt some new guy at you next. Block her from your life and move on. Her opinion is invalid. Her thoughts, feelings, and emotions mean nothing to you. Be strong and push forward. Be successful and be happy without any contingent of that relying on her.

She can only hurt you as much as you let her. And really, it's not that much. Let her take that last swing at you, shows you really that you made the right choice. Also, a happy ex is a quiet ex. Count that as a blessing. Best of luck moving forward!

I found out that her coworkers got her a cake that said “ I’m free” on it…probably told her coworkers a whole sob story about how she didn’t have to pay any bills and free load off of me.

Just breathe. It's going to be okay. Both of you are probably really hurt. Give yourself some time and grace. I also recommend therapy to help you deal with your feelings. It really helped me. I'm going on five years post separation and divorce.

…I know the pain. I was just there at the beginning of the year - spent NYE by myself for the first time. I went for a drive to force myself out of the house and ended up at the drive thru for Taco Bell. I went to say my order and the guy told me to hold because it’s about to hit midnight and they wanted to celebrate with their family on the phone. Once the NY rang in I hear the celebration through the intercom and found myself at my rock bottom. Skipped getting food and went home. I took a picture of my mini champagne bottle to remind myself of how sorry my situation was and to never get here again. It’s the middle of August now and lately the months feel like they’re flying. It wasn’t always like that though, they used to drag on and weekends were the worst. Things are better now for me so I know you will get there too. Keep your mind strong and while lost in this pain stick to a healthy routine. I’m so fucking glad my lesser self had the vision to keep our mind and body busy during autopilot. Once I found my way and that pain started to hurt less I found myself almost 40lbs lighter and leaner. A lot of the reading material I picked up from this sub which helped with my mental a lot.

Sorry you’re going through this. It’s a rough road ahead but it gets better if you stick to a plan that you design for a better future.
