Usually at this moment I’d be at my in-laws enjoying a nice meal and good times with my ex’s family. Won’t get to physically hold my son until late next week. I guess I’m truly experiencing heartbreak for the first time and surprisingly, I’m not totally miserable. Grief isn’t linear, and everyone moves through the stages at their own pace but it’s actually kind of freeing to allow myself to just be kind of sad and confused. We’ve been separated since late September, she already has a new boyfriend apparently, but I’m not mad or jealous? I’m truly happy for her and want her to be happy. It just seems really fast to move on from a 13 year relationship. I suppose I’m rambling, but I figured I’d find at least one person who can relate, or might get something out of my post. Anyway. Hang in there, fellas. You’re doing amazing, you’re loved, and we’ll all make it through this. Together.
