My wife came to me a few months ago, and dropped a bombshell. Talking about how “she does better on her own” “it’s easier when I’m by myself” and on and on. Thing is, I have always been the only one there for her. The only one encouraging her, never putting pressure on her. I never beat her, always treaded her right. Always took care of the kids. Financially supported her, and always there emotionally. How am I supposed to swallow this? How am I supposed to hear that “it’s just her” and not feel like it’s fucking me. And on top of it, she has since become “friends” with our kids coach, and also flat told me that she does not want me at the sport, because “those are her friends and she wants her own life”. Am I wrong for saying that having your own life, and having your own life that I can be apart of are two different things? And this stuff with the coach, she talks more to him than me at the moment. I have seen some of their messages, and I would say that it is at the point of an emotional affair, which she denies. I’m sorry, staying up later having random question sessions is not a normal relation ship between a married woman and a single man, is it? This whole thing has been a train wreck. I don’t want to lose my kids, I don’t want to lose my wife, and it all feels beyond my control. I don’t get what I did to deserve all this. I have always tried to give her whatever she wanted, to a fault. And it has become painfully obvious that we are having two different fights. She sees this as her wanting independence, but I see it has her wanting to not be with me and then immediately developing the groundwork for a new relationship. Am I wrong here?
