Recd a copy of the signed judgement today from my attorney. It’s been a long battle from beginning to end and I am happy things worked out.

I’m in NY. Settled at 50/50 custody after a battle. 3-4 conferences in front of a judge. Police involved at the house several times. I recorded everything that happened in this house for a year and a half to protect myself and the kids.

One small piece of luck, I landed a good judge that is progressive and doesn’t believe the high earner should pay full support at 50/50 custody so my support was cut in half. Small alimony, but it was part of the negotiation. I can’t say enough about the judge and how fair he was. My attorney was a great help.

I was also able to keep the house to keep the kids in their school district. Bought her out and was able to keep my project car.

All in all this was a rough ride. I had a small group of friends and family that were my support group. A therapist I am still seeing. I’m happy to be out the other side and now start rebuilding.

If I didn’t have a cold, I’d be celebrating today. Anyone reading this, hang in there. It isn’t easy, but you aren’t alone.
