I didn’t want a divorce, but she decided to leave and nuke the family anyway.

I hated it for the kids, not being able to grow up in a home with both of their parents.

It was heartbreaking to me. Not only for the kids, but also the rejection.

That behind said,, I’m 100 times better off without her here.

I can now actively acknowledge just how much better off as a person I am without her dragging me down every day.

She was completely self-centered during the marriage and she’s exactly the same now.

But I just can’t figure out why this is still so painful.

Shouldn’t I be jumping with joy because she’s gone?

At this point, I think it’s just the destruction of the marriage itself and what could have been if she had changed as well.
