Today I had my first double date with my sister, her BF and my BF. During our date, my BF left to be on the phone with someone for 30+ minutes. When he came back, I jokingly asked him whether he was fired and inquired about who called. He stated that it was a fellow female brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, whom he had sparred with the previous day. Apparently she didn't take the sparring session too well and needed to talk to him about it. I practice muay thai (a combat sport as well) and we spar with men all the time. We do not call our sparring partners demanding explanations for their rough tussling - our trainers (we call them Kru's) tell us to suck it up - women need the conditioning as much as men.

I left the date early under the pretense that I was tired. I offered to pay for our meal and he declined, so I ordered an Uber and he demanded to go with me. Throughout the entire ride, he wanted to know why I was REALLY cutting the evening short. I told him that I needed space and he kept on probing the issue. He then wanted to know how long it took my last BF to piss me off this much (6 months btw), which IDK why he even asked me that. He kept on texting me asking me why I was mad but I haven't replied (I turned off my phone). I asked him to please give me space to cool off (but didn't mention why). My questions to you girls is:

  • Am I being an a-hole? or was that completely rude of him?
  • Is he an insecure male now? He was confident before, but after I got my boob job (on Halloween) he began asking me whether I would leave him.
  • Is it wrong that I re=downloaded my dating apps (Hinge, Tinder, Okcupid, etc.)?

It should be noted that he has a ton of tagged pics with him and his jiu jitsu girl friends on Facebook. Maybe it's just me, but it's striking me as a low-value male trap to make it seem like he has a higher sense of worth. (I've had hotter, more successful BF's than him but I have un-tagged myself from their pictures as I view it as in bad taste). We've been official for 1 month and dating for 2 months.
