This will be controversial, but I wouldn't attempt to save someone who wants to help a violent rapist. And I don't even think there is a way to successfully save her either.

Seriously, her level of patriarchal programming is next level. In an incredibly dark, morbid way, I’m actually kind of astonished.

Imagine being so male-identified that—despite knowing full-well that the dude is a psychopathic, remorseless rapist—you would still vouch for him and want him in your life. Really, just imagine being so deluded and braindead.

This woman, beneath the smoke and mirrors, is sick in the fucking head. Rapists are subhuman abominations who should immediately be executed via the electric chair. Same with rapist sympathizers. They deserve no empathy. She’s beyond salvation.

I don't think a woman like this can be saved and I don't think it's fair to put that burden on all women to save her. If she's willing to be supportive of a rapist seems like she would also be toxic to other women.
Her support of a rapist can be extremely triggering to survivors of sexual assaults.

People really are determined to not understand sociopathy and psychopathy aren’t they? You cannot teach empathy to people who are psychologically incapable of feeling it, and the hopes that the right book will shake loose something in his brain is absolutely fucking atrocious. Someone who has the capability to rape someone so violently that he’s imprisoned for five to ten years is not someone who’s going to read Speak or Lucky or any other victim-authored book and think “oh, oopsy-daisy!!
