I have always been attracted to smart men. When I was in undergrad, I was in a top university so most people were really smart so I had no problems finding a mate. As a master student I was also surrounded by them. I might start a PhD program soon. As I keep studying my capacity of analyzing data and etc just keeps increasing. When I am out of school, since I have taken breaks between each degree, I have met nice guys but they are not really that smart and that turns me off completely. Mundane talks bore me. I like knowing about their past, their lives, their passions but life is more than that. When I talk to my partner I like to feel challenged in the conversation, I like to argue. I like to see how they see the world but in an educated way.

The problem is, the more educated I become, the more I want a man that is more educated than me. I was just talking to a guy who was mesmerized about using “Area” instead of “length” in an equation. now I see that my dating pool is really small. Am I just doomed to date PhDs and post docs? Some experts argue this issue is present in individuals with high testosterone. At the same time, I feel bad because I can be an asshole when these men say nonsense. I am trying to change that behavior as well.

How do other FDS women deal with this issue?
