I think it depends on the age. a lot of people my age (late teens/early 20s) still use snapchat as actual social media so it’s pretty common for people in that age range to have it. but i can see it being a red flag for older people.

I’m in my 30s and I do find it a turn off when 35+ year old men advertise their snapchat on their profile. But I don’t know what snapchat is all about, it just seems a bit juvenile

I’m 26. I’m a bit weirded out when guys in their 30s use it but otherwise I’m pretty neutral about it. If they’re using it to bridge communication out of the app I generally drop them. It’s never led to a non sexual conversation for me.

A. A teenager

B. A pedophile trying to prey on vulnerable teenagers.

C. A parent trying to keep up with their teenage child

D. A cheater

E. Way too into social media for me to bother dating

F. A creep trying to exchange nudes.

I've never had a Snapchat account and never wanted one. I also don't have a Whatsapp account even though they always ask me for that, and they think it's weird when I said I have no idea what that is. I'm not much for social media, and I wish to find someone who is also not much into social media.

From my experience, guys who asked me about Snapchat (I don’t have it) only did so because they wanted to send and exchange nudes.

If someone is in their 20s and has Snapchat they are probably using it to keep up with friends from high school and college. I’m in my mid 20s and type of content that my friends post have changed over the years but a lot of people still actively share stories. People use it as a more private social media than Facebook stories.

People who were too old to be into Snapchat when it was at its peak are a red flag IMO. In my experience they usually use it to either follow a lot of much younger people or downloaded the app to friend porn accounts.

There are also people who are just kind of out of touch, which is cute when it’s an elderly person, but less cute when it’s your date. Some older people are late adopters of Snapchat to send their kids (or even grandkids) snaps to try to stay in touch, which I think is silly but a sweet gesture.

For me it is. No normal man over the age of 40 has snap chat. But we all know why a man that old would be there and snap chat certainly wouldn't be the first red flag. Men like that are always in the gaming section of Walmart dressed in their teenage sons clothes.

Simply having an account is okay with me. It’s not a red flag as long as he’s not asking me to use it to have disappearing conversations with him or send inappropriate pictures. Just like occasional selfies, scenery or things he cooked are nice.

I found Snapchat to be a green flag in my relationship when I just realized that my boyfriend has a Snapchat score of like 300 and I’m his only friend. I (26) I asked my BF (28) if he has Snapchat, and when he didn’t he quickly created an account so he wouldn’t “look lame” lollll. It’s all about context

If they’re international, maybe not a red flag. I know some international people who seem to use it for taking vacation pics and sharing food pics. Known a few people in a family snap. If they’re American, idk, several American guys have told me it’s just for nudes.

depends on his age and how much its used. Some people (ie. me) make a snapchat just to talk to friends, or because they like the filters. If they suggest using snapchat to talk then that is a red flag.

I originally said no but now I change my mind. When I snapchat with girls it's innocent. When I snap chat with guys they assume I'm going to send pics.

I'm 22, have a snapchat and have never even used it, but I know for a fact that if his snapchat's in his bio he belongs to the streets.

If he texts you on snap, instead of anywhere else, he must be a shady fucker. He's most likely using it for nudes and to not be held accountable for the drivel he's spewing since the texts get deleted and users get alerted when screenshots are being taken.

I don't personally like, use, or even understand Snapchat (I'm only physically 30 but mentally I'm in my 90s lol). But it doesn't seem like a red flag to me because everyone has Snapchat nowadays. It doesn't necessarily mean they're using it for inappropriate messages.

My boss, who's older than me and single, has Snapchat because our younger coworkers bullied him into it (we work at a weird place). He doesn't use it (we had a long hilarious conversation about how we don't understand it and why can't we just text people pictures instead?)

I only have snapchat to see what my younger brother and the children of my (way older) sister are up to. They sometimes send me stories (I feel like it’s comparable to my mom being on Instagram 😂)

I find it a red flag when a guy I’m dating (30-40) has it and is actively using it. They’re really alarmed when they see the app on my phone so that should tell us something.

I use it and I’m 34, it first started as a work requirement now I use it all the time. I prefer it so I can see their real time pics (snap will tell you if it’s from their camera roll or memories or today) so it’s harder to catfish, and snap let’s you know if they screenshot anything or if they save anything.

I’m 30 and Snapchat became normal with my peer group a few years ago. I think up a few years older is fine too; but I’m in a social media conscious area of the US, so everyone’s been on everything for at least a hot minute. Most of us hardly use it anymore, but I know a lot of people use it as a first point of contact instead of something more permanent like Instagram or a phone number. Besides, I like Snapchat’s filters and story feature.
