Ladies, I desperately need your opinion on this guy I started talking to. A few weeks ago during quarantine I had a guy reach out to me on FB. Now I ignore those message requests 99% of the time. This one, however, was very interesting in a strange kinda way as the guy said he saw me on a plane last year and described what I was wearing and named the city I was going to (was all accurate). Of course, I got curious and started typing out a message until I realized.... he had the same last name as one girl I know. So I clicked through his profile and sure enough that was her husband. I called him out immediately to which I could tell he was kinda shocked but explained that they got divorced. I didn't believe him and sent screenshots to his wife and she responded that they are indeed not together anymore. I still wasn't interested and told him he shouldn't be reaching out to her friends and wished him luck. A week goes by. He messages me again. Now: the dude is hawt, like objectively. So I'm thinking to myself - here we go, probably wants to see how easy he can sleep with me as I'm sure he has an army of Pickmeishas and thinks he is a God's gift to women (eyeroll). So, I go: "Listen, I'm not interested in casual sex but I'm sure you will have a great success on Tinder". Long story short, he somehow convinced me he is not a fuckboy and chatted me up. We've been talking for about two weeks now I think. On the day 4 he sent me a dozen of roses and chocolates. On the day 7 he left a gift by my door (maybe like $70). On the day 10 he left another gift by my door (around $70-80 I think). Two nights ago he sent me dinner from Ruth's Chris, an expensive bottle of wine, cheeses, grapes, walnuts to go with it. So probably spent over $200 on that.. While of course I'm flattered this all seems like too much. He said that he saw a picture of me two years ago on his ex-wife's fb, remembered me, then a year later saw me on the plane and recognized me. Now that they are not together he is saying he really wants to see where it can go with me. Is it a little too crazy? I told him yesterday that while I appreciate it all I'm a bit uncomfortable with the amounts of money he is spending.. I mean, after all us, FDS women, are not these money hungry man haters all LVMs paint us to be lol. I feel bad since we are not even dating. He sent me a poem he wrote for me (it's actually very funny and was definitely written for me). So far I really like the stuff we talk about and what we share in common. He keeps talking what kind of dates he is gonna take me on once the quarantine is over. We spoke on the phone a few times.. Other nice little things in between. How can the girl not go Awww.. I swore off all men and haven't been in a relationship since 2018 (besides going on little dates here and there). My mom says something is off when I told her about it all. She said it's not healthy and too much too soon. Reading it all right now indeed sounds kinda crazy. So, ladies, please, help me see what I cannot see because due to my euphoria. I really need an outsider's input

Edit: thought it would be relevant to add what he told me about the separation. So what he told me is that he started feeling something was off, like she was detached, on her phone a lot. So he looked through their phone bill and investigated the numbers she was interacting with and turned out she was mainly chatting with her personal trainer. He confronted her but she wouldn't show the texts but says they didn't have sex. He confronted the trainer and said he could sense the guy was lying, saying they were just friendly chats... I'm sorta glad we cannot meet right now. This will give me more time to find out more.
